I went to eat with my wife who is 7 months pregnant. The air conditioner was set at a very uncomfortable 55 degrees on a 90 degree day. The lady in front of us asked why it was so cold and the manager told her it was to make sure that the staff was comfortable. The manager said that she felt it felt fine to her. I placed an order and she wouldn't raise the temp when I asked either. By the time we got our food, the food was cold because of the A/C. We were charged $79.99 on a recent Visa bill, from “Great Fun”. I found Great Fun on the web, called and canceled what they called a “new membership” in their travel club. I called Visa and complained about the charge. They canceled the payment, and told me that I have to be careful in certain websites, that I don’t inadvertently sign up for a club like this by NOT unchecking a box where I am agreeing to join. The business is online at bill-me-later.com. I had a credit balance on my account. I used that credit balance to purchase an item through a merchant that supports their service. I received a discount for doing so and purchased my products. When I went to see my account online, it showed I had a zero balance, but no balance due. We purchased Rhino decking in 2002/2003. By the second summer we noticed that we were getting a lot of mildew spots on the boards and the spaces between the boards were narrowing. Bullseye Telecom convinced me to switch from AT&T/SBC, promising to save me money on my phone bill, at least $5.00 per month. (I typically pay $38.00 per month to AT&T) I got my first bill, and was surprised to find that it cost me $5.00 more per month. This is an unfortunate story about what happened this afternoon. My wife and I went to a Starbucks at Georgetown, Washington, DC to get an iced coffee. On 11/02/2005, I took my car to Price’s Auto Service to have the water pump replaced. When the car was brought in, Price’s showed us some bent intake valves from another engine. I was warned that the same thing could happen to my car, unless I had the timing chain serviced at the same time. I agreed to have the additional work done. The transmission problem was brought to the attention of Mr. Transmission during the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty period, at the scheduled service before the warranty expired, in August 2005.
