Cancelling service - Store notes incorrectly on purpose
Went to the At&t Store to cancel my account within 30 days. Talked to Christopher and he took back my iPhone on 4/28 and charged me the 10% restocking fee. Said it was no problem and just to call and check with Customer Support to ensure the Activation and Cancellation Fees were removed from the account.
Of course called today and the Account was STILL ACTIVE and the Rep made a note that I had visited to discuss my account. I spoke with Christopher again and he indicated I will have to return to the store AGAIN even though it was their error in order for them to add the correct note.
I have confirmation from my credit card statement oh the chargeback on my iPhone minus the 10% restocking fee. I now have to travel 150 miles back to the store, since I have moved, in order to talk to the bozo who incorrectly entered my note in the first place.

Bad service
I was the contact person for problems with neighbors phone. I missed the first service call as I was gone for 2 hours. I rescheduled and was promised a tech would visit the next the next two days. They did not show up. I rescheduled for the next two days. They did not show up. All AT&T puts money into is sales. It seems when you have a problem (most likely was a previous installer caused) you seem to be on your own.
AT&T service is poor at best.

AT and T has the worse customer service of any of the phone companies
AT and T has the worse customer service of any of the phone companies I have EVER dealt with. My 15 year old son made a mistake purchasing services for his GO phone and we called them as soon as we saw it on the debit card and they would do NOTHING about it even though they had records which showed the service that he always had gotten and had used no airtime on the service he had purchased. Customer service reps at AT and T shouldn't even be allowed to have the title because they are so unhelpful and don't care. I hate AT and T and am posting bad reviews about them on the internet anywhere I can because I got no satisfaction from this company so I am giving it to myself. Selfempowerment. As consumers and americans we can vote with our dollars that is what capitalism is about. DON'T USE AT AND T. LET'S PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS AND SEE HOW BIG THEY ARE THEN!

Uverse TV and Internet
Where to start with AT&Ts services, UVERST TV + Internet.
Do not get tricked by slick salespeople in trying the products out for free in 30 days. As soon as the 30days are up they will charge you right away a month ahead of time on a pro rated scale, even though they promise you $150.00 in rewards this money will go straight back to them for your first month's bill.
1. Installation was supposed to be on 3/19/10 between 2-4pm, no one showed up the entire day even though I called them twice!!
2. They finally showed up on 3/31/10 instead to install the goods, installation guy said the signal was weak but it should work...and it did for a while.
3.On windy rainy days, the tv reception breaks up the picture into little squares and freezes up.
4. if you are a serious Xbox live gamer, they promise you downloads of 15-25Mbs but in reality, the installation guy told me he had not seen anyone getting over 10Mbs. A lot of latency on the Modern Warfare 2 game, very frustrating
5. I cancelled the services, and I have to mail the stuff via UPS back to ATT myself
6. Service is crap and just a bad idea overall
7. do not get ATT Uverse + Internet

I called for services in February 2010, I wanted a home phone w/internet after I set up services and paid a $50dollar deposited and was asked to pay $175 for the internet I was given a date of activation. However, I never received the phone or the internet services. Week after the week I called asking someone to fix the problem, final I got fed up and told them I didn't want the services, and I wanted a refund of my deposits money. However, it has been 3 months and I still haven't received any money.

The worst comany ever
They gave us a plan saying that we only had to pay 326 dollars a month and saying that we had free texting and we could have calls at anytime. but then the bill came at $600 per months and they where saying that we didnt have free anything and that its all are fault. there hiprocrates and they lie a lot i hate them.

I have repeatedly received unsolicited and unwanted pornographic and/or profane video text messages from an AT&T customer. After the first time I texted them and told them not to text me. I have received more of these texts. Yesterday, I received one with my 11 year old grand daughter sitting next to me. I called AT&T customer service and they said that there was nothing they could do even though I used the offending party's AT&T number to get into customer service. To call the offending party was, according to corporate policy, an "inappropriate customer contact"! It is okay for the AT&T customer to text pornography and profanity to people they do not know, to include children. However, it is "inappropriate customer contact" for AT&T to contact their customer and ask them to refrain from texting unsolicited and unwanted pornography and profanity. I always thought pornography was not meant for kids and public display. The customer service representative, after conferring with her supervisor, suggested I call them or text them on my time and money and once again ask them to refrain from this behavior. I suggest that AT&T condones this behavior. If they are not part of the solution, then they are part of the problem. At that, I told them I was turning this over to the Tacoma Police Department in a formal complaint.

Right now I am working on a dispute with AT&T as they are telling me that my bill is $10, 663.44 for two months of service because of toll calls...
Seriously, I have one little phone that I use for my dial up...regardless of the fact that the lady at AT&T that I spoke with yesterday, told me that my account was never flagged!!!
VERY frustrated at the moment!!!

This is not how you treat a customer who just wants to see the bill and make a payment
Called 3 times to request final statement for a disconnected line. On the 3rd time they said there's been a mistake in the billed amount, and would mail me the adjusted amount shortly. Never got the bill and now there's a debt collection letter in my mail box for the incorrect amount!
When I called the 4th time to inquire about the debt collection letter and ask for the statement to be sent again, AT&T says I need to pay $6 for the statement!! I asked to speak to the manager and was put on an endless loop. I called again and was either hanged up on or could never get through.
This is not how you treat a customer who just wants to see the bill and make a payment. Are we supposed to just pay the amount we are told to and not even look at the bill anymore?

I have several complaints about AT&T service but the most riduculous issue is how stupid their customer representatives are. Long story but the jest is we had a credit on our account for over two months before in the middle of a billing cycle they processed everything. On a Friday we get a letter that said we had a past due amount of $60 and the following Monday they cut off our service. I could not even call them. With all of the other problems my family and I were having with them that Monday evening I switched to Verizon. According to them we were past due this $60 because their processing computor said it was past due even though are previous bill said we had a credit. Now after two years and three collection agencies I found a web site that basically tells people how to fight them, and fight them I will. I have sent them two certified letters and will follow the other steps in that web site. Eventually, I will be suing them as I am going to recover all of my expenses. I have all of the evidence needed, they will spend thousands of dollars trying to defend themselves even though they haven't a chance in hell. My attorney laughed when I showed him my evidence and said this was a "no brainer" and I didn't even need him.
