Home Loan Modification
In January my husband after not working for several months started the paperwork to apply for a home loan modification through Bank of America. We were asked several times over a few months to provide the same documents over and over again. In August my husband received notice from one of his credit cards that they were reducing his limit (this was a business account) from $10, 000 to $1400. He contacted the credit agency to fine out BofA had notified the credit companies we were several months behind on our mortgage. I will skip all the fluff in between the past few months making phone calls to incompetent people to the present. Now we have been told we don't qualify but owe BofA $5000. BofA sent our loan to Freddie Mac, that was 2 months ago. Now we are still waiting but being told our mortgage is way behind as we have not paid. We have proof via canceled checks our mortgage has always been paid. Yes we paid the approved "TRIAL" period but we were never told to stop that payment. So, in a nutshell BofA has destroyed my husband's credit making it very difficult to run his business. What ever we owe to BofA will be put on the back of our loan so we will be actually paying more for the original loan. We were not one of those people who bought above our means...we actually purchased a foreclosure 3 years ago at $240, 000. We put $20, 000 down and now owe $172, 000. Our house is worth about $90, 000. It is really a shame that this bank has destroyed our credit, not helped reduce our mortgage payments but made them higher, and still have not given us a final answer. We have also asked for a total breakdown from them of all money in and out so that we can compare. We hear nothing from them. Should we walk away??? I was trying desperately to keep our house but now I am not sure we can because of the damage BofA has done.

Making home afforable
Bank of America is a joke when it comes to this Making Homes Affordable I have been going through the process for 2 yrs now.I wasn't behind on my payments just took a 20% paycut 2 yrs ago. That is when I started the process sending, faxing and signing every document they wanted.Just to be told every fews months the lost it or never got it.Then after a year of calling them every few weeks to see how thing were going the finally said we need to start this whole thing over again and lets start you on a trial period loan payment now. That was the first time anybody had even offered that trial period to me.So the process started again I would call every few weeks to see how things are going the would tell me it is still in review. Then in June I get a message saying I needed to call them.I call them they tell me I have been denied due 2 things 1 was divorce was not a good reason and I had to much reserve money.I told them divorce was only part of the reason that the pay cut was the big reason. Then the lady tells me that I needed to move my reserve money somewhere like a credit card or just take it out.I was told then I can reapply which I did.So I asked them which payment do I make the trial period or my orginal payment they said the trial payment till I recieve a letter stating I have been denied.About a month later I get a package in the mail saying I had been approved for MHA and had to sign and send a certified check with the amount of my new payment back with the paper work within 5 days or it would be void.I did a all that checked and saw that they had recieved it.Called a every few weeks to make sure everything was going ok was told had not been transfered to the system yet.Asked when wil I see a payment book or coupon to make my next new payment wa stold not sure what is going on with that but you can make one over the money so you won't be late so I did that. Then yesterday I get another package from BOA saying that I had been denied the modifactions due to reserve money the samething they told me in June.So now which letter do I believe the one saying I was apporved or the one saying I was denied.

Holds on Deposits for a whole week
I've been banking with Bank of America for years and thought they are good.
I recently started to notice that I got ripped off quite often.
Whenever I make deposits for more than 5k/day, BoA put a hold on my account for the amount over 5000 for a whole f... week. So when my scheduled payments due, BoA charged me for overdraft. Beautiful reason.
I called BoA today when I noticed the hold and both their customer services as well as the Suppervisor told me that there is nothing they can do about that. It's their policy.
Seem to me that BoA has become so big that they now don't need customers. We should go and do our banking some where else where they value us.

Careless handle large check amount
I am complaining that Bank of America is careless to protect their customers. The tellers did not question or verify those large amounts of Cashier checks since they know that there are a lot of fake cashier checks out there and it got me in dept right now. All my account balance in NEGATIVE and Credit cards declined. I received Cashier checks from this company called “Mystery Shopping Provider Association” for the amount of $2900.00, $5420.40, $7420.40 and $7420.40 to cash at my bank for Evaluation at different Credit Union. I cashed first check on 09/20/2010 for $2900.00 and on 09/23/2010 I cashed another check for $5420.40. No tellers question or verify this check even those on that 9/23/2010 the bank showed my $2900.00 check is bounced. I did not know until 9/24/2010 regarding the check bounced. All these cashier checks are fake, but it is too late. I just received two more Cashier checks for the amount of $ 7420.40 each. If I take to the bank, they will cash for me. I should not be the victim of the scam if the bank do their job to protect customer.
I will submit complaint for those scam later

Management & Security guards who don't know who the customer is
My recommendation is that you do your banking at Wells Fargo, a Credit Union, or a bank that hires management and security guards who value the customer. Sad part is that many of the employees here (minus a few) are pretty good.
There were unprofessional and unwelcome comments made by security officer in the parking lot. I parked in the "Bank Only" parking space after using the bank and checking my account via the internet @ the nearby starbucks.
The security officer made a comment to me that I didn't walk into the bank nor out of it; when in face, I had my statement printout that I did in fact use it and didn't spent less than < 40 minutes at the nearby Starbucks. He made some false accusations about me that were untrue. Perhaps he doesn't understand that both the taxpayers + customers are keeping him the bank going. In this case, I am both a taxpayer and a customer and so are you.
My recommendation is that you find a bank or credit union that doesn't make accusatory comments to the customers face.

Modification
In June 2008 my husband loss his job in New Jersey and we live in Phialdelphia. I paid everymonth my mortgage until October 2009 when I knew it was to hard and I could qualify for a modification, especially HAMP since I have been eligible. I contacted them right away and was told to fax my documents and I would qualify . My mortgage payment was 819 and we received 1700 month. I have a family of five. I faxed what they told me and never heard anything so in December I went online to check out my account and it stated I was denied. I called BOA to ask why I wasnt notified and they said they didnt have to. So in January 2010 I started seeing a counsleor at the Dickson House 215-336-3511 rebecca Swanger to help me. We called them and received a fedex package requesting the same documents I faxed. On February 5, they sent me a letter stating they received all of my documents and will review them. never heard anything. Recieved another package, sent in same documents, never heard from them. I made several calls with rebecca where each time they said i qualified and they would send me out packages. (By the way we sent 6 authorizations stating I could talk on my husbands behalf and they never had anything) In April we finally talked to a Margurite( I am going to dickens house on Monday to get my whole file, it has the dates we called, people we talked to and the result) We were told a Devon in the excalation department would take care of us and he will be the only one, I was so excited it was like finally well he called one time in May then finally and ironically he called in July(6 mos after) but at that moment my husbands unemplyment stopped but my husband was approved SSD which we would get an award letter . Devon said once I get that send it in and they will approve it( why didnt they approve it all those months and they never told me why not, never) but August 31 I recd a fedex from them stating I didnt qulaify for the HAMP because of missing documents. So I contacted Darlene at the HOPE Hotline . We were on the phone with them for 3 hours and she has all the notes. We were never told why I didnt qualify even though she told them they were in violation because with my financials I should qualify. So we finally got in touch with a Christopher Boyd who said he will be our negotiatior and the final one and said I could fax him the documents which I did Sept 16 I called him Sept 17 and left message he called back and said he received everything and I was good . Now I just received another fedex requesting the same info and so I called HOPE hotline again and we spoke to an Anita who said I was denied becuase of missing documentation, she said I didnt qualify ( Darlene told me they can not deny me becuase of that) then tonight a member of the HOPE team from BOA called me to see if I got thier package. I said I was on the phone with thier modificaition team today for 2 hours. What is going on. We receive about now 1150 mo plus 600 food stamps. My Mortgage is above %31 but why wont they give me a trial period Please Please help. They are in severe violation See my house is nice and I have equity in The one negotiatior told me that the HAMP Program is for the people whose house is not market value the ones who caused this mess to begin with PLs I just want a Hamp and make sure my house is safe.
Also today Anita was talking about recently she had no answer when I asked why I was never qualkified since November when I have been trying.

customer abuse
we have done bussiness with b of a for 40 years and they got our tax payer money with bailouts and then they played god with our money as to who would stay in bussiness, and when you can't survive the economy and get a loan they force you to default and then are quick to ruin your credit so you can't get anything from anyone. That is customer abuse. I hope some crazy person blows up all their offices.

fraud
bank of america is the most disorganized, inefficient fraudulent bank.
they are rude, do not care about their customers .
i had paid my monthly mortgage and the money was even debitted from my account
but the money was lost by the bank, but they started charging me late fee and harrassing me for a repeat payment.
when i called the bank with proof of payment and the debit from my account, they referred me to the research department.
they promised to look into the matter and stop the creditors calls and refund the late fee.
the following month my statement included double the payment plus the late charges with interest
i ccalled again and they said that they would look into that.
creditors ccontinued to harrass me.
this continued for subsequent months - for a period of 5 months during which time i spend atleast 3 hours a week talking to the morgage .
no one in the mortage department would give their last name.
finally they traced money and apparently resolved the issue, only to get the mortgage statement including a late fee of 402 dollars saying i had not paid it
i already have 3 mortgages with them, that was fraudulently given to me with misrepresentation and over and above that, they are continuing to harrass me,
i have just contacted an attorney to help me through this ordeal
please do not go to BOA for any of your mortgages or even banking.
i have heard this type of complaints from several of my friends

Holding deposit funds too long
Bank of America play 'games' with their customer deposits. I am out of town on business and needed to get a cashier's check to pay an urgent bill. I tried to get a cashier's check with a Chase ATM..but there were no Chase banks in New Hampshire. But there was a Bank of America in New Hampshire. So I deposited a Chase deposit in a Bank of America bank in New Hampshire and the check cleared the next day.. and I had proof. However, Bank of America REFUSED to release the hold on the funds until 10 days later - regardless if I could show proof of funds clearing. I feel that Bank of America practices criminal banking procedures and until someone stands up to them, they will continue their shenanagans.
