CC rip off
Recently, I noticed my Bank of America balance going up, and figured it was just the outrageous interest the bank charges on their credit cards. Upon further review however, I noticed it was not only due to their predatory interest rate, but the due date was changing from month to month, so an additional late fee of $39 was added to my bill. They said it was due to by billing cycle, of course, their motivation was to rip me off. Part of the new credit act, is to assign fixed dates from February of this year. It is a crying shame, it took an act of congress for predators like this bank, to change their ways. Bad word of mouth will also be expensive, and that it my guarantee. If you can avoid this fraudulent bank altogether, then do so!

Overdraft Fees
I'd heard horror stories about other peoples experiences with Bank of America. I some how let them draw me in with a free $100.00 deposit for opening a checking account as a first time consumer. It's something that I wish I'd never done...ended up being a complete nightmare with them. They intentionally held pending debits on my account far beyond 5-7 business days only to charge me 35.00 per transaction as a result of funds being held. I've never seen or heard anything like this in my life. I'm surprises that this is legal. Write your local politicians ans submit as many complaints as you can...they need to be held accountable for ripping consumers off.

Increased interest rate/decreased credit limit
Bank of "America"? Please! I have never dealt with a company more UN-American in their overall business philosphy than Bank of "America". Their business motto appears to be screw the consumer every which way they can, take their tax dollars, and ruin credit scores. It is my firm belief that this major corporation has no appreciation or respect for their customers, even those who have perfect credit with the company. I pay my credit card bill on time every month (NEVER late!), have NEVER gone over my credit limit, more often than not pay more than the minimum amount due, and haven't charged anything in many, many months in an effort to get out of debt. Unfortunately they also hold the mortgage on my home as they purchased the original mortgage company my home was financed by. Again, NEVER late on a mortgage payment, and often pay additional towards the balance due. What's my reward for being a good customer with this company for in excess of 10 years? My credit limit on my credit card has been reduced and my interest rate increased for no reason several times in the past couple of years, which in turn raises my debt to available credit ratio, which in turn lowers my credit score, which could subsequently prevent me from obtaining credit elsewhere to pay off my debt with this company. All while Bank of "America" owes "America" billions of dollars and their corporate managers receive sizeable bonuses? Is this their ultimate long-range business plan? Can we say SCAM?? As I told an agent with Bank of "America" today, I WILL pay the company every dime I owe them, I WILL attempt to get my home refinanced and pay my hard-earned money to a more deserving financial institute, and once that is accomplished I will NEVER do business with Bank of "America" again. I encourage others to do the same. Let's give this company a taste of their own vile medicine!

As for the recent credit card reform act, well, needless to say it has, from my viewpoint and that of many others I know, done more harm than good. Many of the credit card companies merely got their top weasels together to find ways around the new law, and have done so quiet successfully, all to the detriment of consumers. Hooray for us!

Lack of reasonable assistnce
I have been stuck in an adjustable rate mortgage and tried several times to refinance and get a fixed rate mortgage with no success. I have been in the process of trying to get a loan modification and get the run-around each time. I have tried several times to contact them and get either disconnected or a representative who does not speak English. When I have finally gotten through they connect me to several different people and than I end up back at square one. I have been barely able to pay my bills but they are current and up-to-date. The interest rate keeps climbing and making it more difficult month-to-month to keep up on my bills. I am very distraught and expected more from such a well-known company! Before I get assistance I fear it will come down to the loss of my home.

Took $280.00 (8 overdraft fees @ $35.00 each) from my account
Am unemployed. Have auto deposit unemployment which would be been deposited to my Bank of America checking account at 0001 hours on 7 July 2009. Woke up this morning to find that Bank of America had processed payments PRIOR to crediting the deposit, taking $280.00 (8 overdraft fees @ $35.00 each) from my account, leaving only $6.09 for me to live on. I request that the $280.00 be credited to my account immediately.

Bank of America: unethical theives
I had my credit card payment set up to be paid automatically online at the same time every month. One month they decided to begin processing it 6 days earlier, which made my payment one day too early. I caught this after two months and contacted them. I had made no changes regarding the timing of my payment. They did. I asked the rep (who was very rude) how they can charge $100 in fees for being one day EARLY with my payment when they changed their processing time. He said that's the way it is. I spoke with a supervisor. He was just as helpful. I told him I would be paying off the account and closing it. He said that he was sorry to lose my business.

I feel sorry for those who are unable to pay off balances and be done with Bank of America. If you do not have a credit card with them, do yourself a favor and don't get involved.

Discover card has been wonerful. Go with them.

Visa Card
I have always paid my bills. Now I am getting a bit old and I do forget. I did all my financial business with BOA... ALL.
For years I tried to arrange that my credit card is paid on the due date with funds from my checking account.
I talked to a personal banker and tried on the internet. I can set up a procedure that $15 is paid automatically every month, but this does not avoid the interest charges when I forget to pay on time. Over the years I had to pay hundreds of dollars for various late charges. This is despite the fact that I keep my life savings in a BOA savings account. Today I called their 1-800 number to find out the due date to pay my balance in full. They told me it is in April (its March now). After digging for several minutes, I found out, that I was only 2 days away from the due date. They got me again, but I did pay over the phone, so no harm done.
Considering the low interest rates, I fear better keeping my money under the pillow, next to my 45.
Banking and Credit card is computerized fraud by design.

Overdraft Fees
Bank of America is designed to rip you off. I noticed i miscalculated the amount that was due to come out of my account so before anything could be processed through i went and deposited cash through the ATM. Thinking this would take care of the pending charges boy was i wrong because i deposited the money 23 minutes after there cut off time even though the funds showed available they allowed all 4 transactions to bounce incurring $35 fees for each one and states that even though it showed available the cash wasn't credited to your account for 24hrs because you deposited the cash after 8pm. How they feel like there justified is beyond me maybe instead of allowing the customer to think it's available they should not show it credited right away...BANK OF AMERICA is all about the money and sticking it to you however they can.

Escrow Account
BOA raised my house payment 36.00 a month due to the escrow increase (property taxes and insurance). This doesn't seem like much to most people, but I live in a small town, so I made a quick trip to the State Farm office & my local tax offices, where I dicovered my taxes went up 100.00 & the insurance 38.00 for this last year. So what does BOA need with the other 250.00 or so?? When I called them on it, I was put on hold for 45 minutes and they never came back on!!! Just think... what if they are doing this to millions of Countrywide account holders! I am in touch with the Attorney Generals Consumer Affairs Office (Wyoming) hoping for some advice and help. Good luck fighting the evil giant!
