PERSON CAME BY HOUSE REPRESENTING DTV
ON FRIDAY EVENING WE HAD A YOUG MAN COME BY OUR HOME AND HE TOLD MY HUSBAND ON THE FRONT PORCH HE WAS WITH DIRECT TV AND COULD SAVE US MONEY. MY HUSBAND NEVER LETS ANYONE IN BUT LET HIM COME IN. HE SAID WE HAD SOME OLDER EQUPIMENT AND SAID HE COUKLD SAVE US MONEY. THEN IS WHEN I NOTICED HE HAD ON A WHITE POLO SHIRT WITH TWO LOGOS, ONE DIRECT TV AND ONE DISH NETWORK. I ASKED HIM AND HE SAID HE WORKS WITH THEM TOO AND COULD SAVE US MONEY AND AT THAT POINT MY HUSBAND SAID NO WHEN HE REALIZED HE HAD TWO LOGOS. I CALLED AND THEY SAID YOU HAD LICENSED PEOPLE OUT SOMETIMES BUT THE PERSON I SPOKE TO SAID HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BOTH LOGOS AND SUGGESTED WE DO AN ON LINE COMPLAINT. I WANT COMPENSATION. THIS IS CRAZY HAVING SOMEONE DO THIS!!! THIS WAS ON FIRDAY 5-12

Poor Service and Equipment
I have only been a customer with Direct TV since March 9, 2011 and I have had issues with them 2 times! The first time I had NO service for days and they were very rude. The second time No service in one room because the receiver stopped working. When I called them about it they told me I would receive a different receiver in 3 to 5 business days and I would be responsible to send the "old" receiver back or be charged $400.00. What type of service is that? I have to wait to receive a new (different) receiver, try to hook it up myself, and then ship the old receiver back. I'm STUCK in a contract for 2 years and i've only been with the company for 2 months. IT'S GONNA BE A VERY LONG AND MISERABLE 2 YEARS!!! The day my contract is up.. I WILL BE LEAVING DIRECT TV!!

dish installation
I just found out that my tenants have had a satellite dish from Direct TV installed on my house, without my permission. I called Direct TV today to tell them that they needed to come by and take the dish down. They told me that they had a signed document from the tenants stating that THEY were the property owners, so there was nothing that they could do about the matter. Nice to see that this company is so trusting that ANYBODY can sign a legal document claiming ownership of a property and they do NOTHING to check and verify this! Now I am stuck with the cost of removing the dish from the house, and the repairs from where they drilled into my roof, and I'm stuck with a satellite dish that I have no need for!

Mis lead by service representatives
In trying to set up an account with Direct TV the representative for that company neglected to infor me of the package deals and details of these deals that went with each product. When inquiring about these deals I was told that the representative was a sub contractor and did not take the order properly. I was directed to another deaprtment to clear it up. When trying to find out why these package deals were so hard to find in the website I commented that I have already paid the start up fees. He then explained that there were no paid start up fees on the work order, I then replied that I wanted to cancel the service. He then directed me to another service which manages the funds. When I asked to cancel I was then informed that half of the start up fees would be forfeited and I would not receive the money paid for shipping of the equipment which was sent out the day I ordered the service. This is no way to provide customer service and I would like to give who ever else will listen a heads up.

Original Order, Many Call
Struggle to Oder and have incompetent Customer Service Agents that CAN'T LISTEN and have LITTLE TO NO PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE of the services they represent. 1) Called 4 individual times to get information, some can only read the script provided to them. 2) Once my order was placed and completed the CSR DID NOT EMAIL my starter package. 3) Had to call prior to the install to complete all my rebates. 4) Made a call to add additional programming, was told they could not take my order until the installation was completed, have to call them back to add programming cannot order at time of Original Order. 5) My appointment was 12:00P-4:00P, the installer called but arrived at 4:47P. 6) Couldn't install due to arriving late and the heat. 7) Installer arrived at 7:15A to install. 8) Called Direct TV as advised by installers. Was told I need to speak with another group to get installation. 9) holes in wall due to error in running cable. I've called to get Internet and TV Programming. It shouldn't be this difficult to have TV and Internet. I'm tired of making the calls asking questions that have not materialized. Furthermore, the incompetence of the CSR concerns me when they're dealing with my account applying payments or charges. The end result is Direct TV doesn't care it was shown by the actions of the CSR that were either not willing or chooses not to assist the customer when Direct TV makes a mistake. Some other issues are the CSR are reading from a script, the continually apologize without any emotion, I know these people don't care they're in the Philippines it shows. Nevertheless I would like to be a customer, but not with the erratic and incompetent CSR as well as the complicated methods to start service and receive rebates. I hope this reaches someone that cares and has personal pride in the company and contacts me. Good luck to all that attempts to become a customer of this incompetent employee driven company.

PHONE CALLS BEFORE 8 AM
I have continued to receive calls around 6 am from Direct TV automated systems. I have filed 2 BBB complaints against the company along with calling back every time that I receive these calls before 8 in the morning, I have received approximately 10 calls so far. I have phone records to confirm these calls and have the BBB complaints to also confirm that this has been addressed to the company. Direct TV says that they do not have any control over their automated calls. So I am assuming that this allows them to break the law by ILLEGALLY calling people before 8 am just because a computer is placing the call. I still do not have this issue resolved.

Lousy Customer service

As I tried explaining myself to her she kept interrupting me. When I raised my voice and asked her not too, she yelled at me saying I don't have to put up with this and she wasn't going to talk to me if I continued to do so. I raised my voice because she wasn't listening to me, and asked her to stop. (You might have this conversation recorded) I feel she was being a bit overzealous.
My problem was when the installers were here they said I could have an extra outlet added at no charge. I told them at the time I wasn’t sure where I wanted it. I called yesterday after deciding where and was informed that it was no longer free. That's one issue.
Another was the installers also told me that during a rain storm I wouldn’t loose reception because the dish is pointed in a way that would prevent that from happening, they lied on both accounts. I did all of the attic work for them as I'm particular in the way my wires are run in the attic. The spent approximately two minutes in the attic.
Another issue is the picture not being synced with the sound. There was a rep here that changed the receiver and said; after trying to rectify the problem, the problem was with the broadcasters and not Direct TV. He said he would notify the "engineers" of the problem. I called after the first day of installation as the problem was occurring then, and was told by a rep that she would also contact the "engineers" to rectify the problem. I never heard form anyone so I called back and that’s when they sent out the “tech”
The problem still exists. After having Direct TV for only one month I'm quite dissatisfied with the product, but more-so with the staff associated with Direct TV. I'm a patient and kind person and I felt like I was treated rather rudely. Unfortunately I have signed a two year contract with no way of getting out of it, if I have known what I know now I would have gone with Dish TV or Comcast cable TV. But when my contract ends I promise you that I will have your service disconnected. In the mean time I will not recommend Direct TV to any of my friends or relatives.

Termination fee that I DID NOT owe taken from my checking account
I have spent over a month trying to get Directv to refund $275 that they withdrew directly from my checking account after I was told I would not be charged a cancellation fee if I merged my account with my boyfriend's after moving in together. They sent a bill for a cancellation fee...I called...was told to disregard it, it would be taken care of. 9 days later, $275 was withdrawn from my checking account by directv!!! I called...it would be refunded in 8 days. 10 days later, no refund. I called...there was a mistake...it would be corrected and refunded in another 8 days. 8 days later, no refund. Everytime I talked to someone they would correct it, but nothing ever happened. I asked to speak to a supervisor each time but they had no direct lines to a supervisor! Finally, feeling like I was being scammed and given the run -around and not knowing where to go next, I found this website with another directv customer's posting with the corporate office number:

They were more than willing to go above and beyond and were very apologetic for my troubles!! So call this number if you can't get anywhere with customer service!! Before finding the posting with this number, I couldn't find a number ANYWHERE on the internet to reach someone higher in the company!

Holding payment
Direct TV is holding my final payment to them for 40 days before they send me the credit I am owed. I cancelled them because of the worst customer service I'd ever experienced and this is the icing on the cake. The payment to them has been out of my checking account for 3 weeks already while sit and collect interest as a huge corporation on money they owe me. Is this insane or not??
