I am just writing with regards to a Sony VGN-SZ220 laptop that I had sent in to Sony for repairs. Though my computer was still under warranty, I was notified by Sony after several days of sending the laptop in, that I needed to pay about $170 for some 'cosmetics damages'. I was infuriated. I moved to Mexico and that i would stock up on inkjet cartridges before i left. I bot 20 black ink cartridges and 10 color. Although the package clearly states that the inkjet cartridge is compatible with a Epson T007 and T009, they are in fact not. I have a ZD8000 laptop purchased about 2 yrs ago for about $2800. I bought the extended warranty as I travel internationally. I had a problem with vertical lines on my screen. I spoke with a person at the company who refused to give me his full name and told me there were no other employees at the business address and told me that the part worked and that the professional tech that I had come to home to use the part purchased did not know what he was doing. I have sent my desktop computer (still under warranty) back to Gateway twice since April. The first time the hard drive crashed - for no explicable reason. I just finished a session with HP customer service over there over invasive license agreement for a deskjet 1300 series printer. My simple complaint was I just want a printer driver that does not give HP the right to search my computer at any time and access any data they desire. I handed over my sound system to the sony service station (company owned) in the month of march, 2007. Sony people promptly identified the problem and informed me that the optical lense with assembly has to be changed which will be costing rs.3200/-. When i bought HP laptop, i was assured to get a free tv tuner card if I give an extra cheque of Rs 500. I had given the cheque and the cheque was cleared subsequently. It has been more than 3 months that my cheque is cleared , but no card has been sent. Sony Ericsson service center in mumbai is providing pathetic service. There are hardly any centers in Mumbai to be specific only 2 centers in western suburb. And only 1 centre providing full service.
