I too got suckered into this scam from an article on a local TV website. I paid $1.95 (credit card) to get a free sample. Concentrating on completing the requested info, I did not see the alleged notice of the subscription nor the alleged opportunity to opt out of the free trial of World Club Fitness. Unauthorized charge to my card. I notified my bank and filed a fraud report. The bank had me call them, at which time they told me that I would receive my money back within 10 working day. After 14 working days, I called, only to be told that they would not be giving me my money back. That what they had done was legal. They have NO online website and when you post their name, you find others like myself who have been ripped off by them. There are probably many more out there who have also been taken by them. I signed took my son to NY Fitness because of a coupon in the Clipper Magazine that stated "No Startup Fee, No Commitment and No Gimmicks". It was only $10 a month. My son purchased Acai Berry Detox tableys - supposedly free with 99p postage and packaging, a month later £84.00 was taken from his bank account. Tried to cancel using bank, but the company have managed to send my son (unrequested) another batch of the tablets for another £84.oo. I placed a order with Windaz for perfume to the value of $814, after sending numerous e-mails and promises that I would get my order to this day I have not received anything. I complained to paypal and they were in my favour but were unable to recover any money. I am a member of the HSA dental scheme and have been pursuing claims for dental work - the first was an emergency on the 3rd Feb 2009 as my crown had broken on a front tooth and was dangerously positioned to break the root of my tooth if not attended to. On the 23rd March I returned to the dentist to have a new crown and paid for my dental work by credit card. They bill your credit card using deceptive sales techniques, all legal in the small print. So were screwed, not really. 17 days after ordering they bill you credit card, $17.50 if you do not cancel within that 17 days. So if you get all your friends together and have them order the FREE sample and as soon as they receive it they call and cancel. Make sure they get a conformation number. We have paid for disability insurance for over 20 years. My husband had his knees replaced in 2005. His employer accomodated him with light duty work and he still retained his title and pay. This past March the company did not have any light duty work available and thus he went onto STD. After 90 we applied for our Thrivent supplemental insurance to kick in. At around 1:30, we went to a mesquito chicken breast station. I got scamed by HouseFurnitureOutlet.com...which is a true Scam. They changed web pages every month and post items (same items and prices) on craigs list to get you to goto their web page. Sportgoodoutlet.com appears to be the same thing. The web page looks very similiar and they want you to pay by using Money Pak. Which is a ligit company but there is no way of getting your money back and has no security in purchases.
