Due to a job change we have AVMED, I went to the pharmacy to renew a prescription and AVMED refused to cover it. They say I need a form filled out by the doctor. I have run out of the medicine and in pain. I called AVMED and asked for help and what I should do. They recomended I go to the ER. It is insane to not authorize a needed prescription, to contain costs, then recomend the ER which will be thousands of dollars. Likewise my condition is worsening which may infact cost more. We saw the complaint on the board but decided to try out the office anyways. Its really close to our place. We didn't have any problems with overcharging. Infact, after the doctor examined us someone came in gave us a breakdown of the fillings that needed to be done. Everyone in the office is really helpful. This company sent me by mail an envelope with a phony handwritten name and address. Inside there was an ad that had been on first glance "torn out" of a magazine, but upon closer inspection, it was cut, (probably by machine?)not torn. At the top, was a falsely handwritten message addressing me by my first name saying "Call Fast, it works! I only paid shipping!".
