I had applied for passports of my parents (Senior Citizens), with the application filed on 07.11.2007 at the Kolkata Regional Passport Office (#W011345/07 and W011343/07). Its been close to 6 months, but they are yet to recieve their passports. Police verification has been duly carried out. Repeatedly the passport office has been asking for Duplicated PP Forms, which have also been duly submitted. However, there has been no change in the update of their application since last 4 months. This might be a reason that the Postal Service constantly needs postage rates increase. Our mail Carrier "doesn't like us", we've complained when we've found our outgoing mail on the front lawn, garage floor, or scheduled pickup never picked up.
