I had paid to have lap band placed. Planned for out of state in mexico related to costs. $30, 000 here and $6, 000 there. Any ways the first time I had the procedure the band slipped the very next day and had to have removed. Several thousands of dollars to have removed. THEN they promise to redo the lap band related to the slippage, so went back and immediately after the procedure it slipped. They refused to remove the band unless I paid cash. The staff at this hotel sold me a vacation package for $2000. When I returned home and contacted the second-party agency offering the travel services, ICE Platinum Rewards, I discovered the rates and particulars given to me by the salesperson in Cancun were in conflict with what the agent working for ICE described. MMCinemas, which have recently aqcuired Cinemex have these "special guest cards" in 3 levels, and I am at the highest one, which is Premium. One of their promotions is that on your birthday, you get a free pass for 2 persons for any movie on that day (which for me is April 19th) plus a free medium combo, that is med popcorn & soda plus a hot dog. My parents tried to sell their timeshare and they were also scammed by this Arturo Zarate and Scott Alvarez into wiring funds to be held in escrow. If you were given the option to send your money via a check and were provided the address of "Mexic Sales 2163 Lima Loop, Laredo, TX 78045, this property comes back to a Sergio Cuevas and I have reported this to numerous people. While on vacation in Playa Del Carmen in January 10, 2010, I purchased a diamond ring for $3100 US. On Feb 28 I noticed that one of the small diamonds had fallen out. A day later before I could contact Diamond's International, another small diamond fell out. Carey Lowe misrepresented to us in Oct. 2009 that we could rent out discounted Premier Pueblo Bonito Timeshares to others. The ability to rent Premier timeshares is forbidden by Premier's Terms & Conditions. The salesperson lied to us about this ability. As others wrote, we were approached in the Cancun airport by a ID carrying rep. working out of the Information Booth. For my $40 US they gave me a chance for "discount tours" at Xel-ha and snorkeling if I went on a 90 min. presentation. I bought tickets to this park at my hotel lobby concierge. When I got to Xcaret ticket counter with my paid voucher. They took the voucher to a back counter and left me standing at the ticket counter for 10 minutes. Your story is all too familiar! We experienced the same sales scam. Your first step is to google PROFECO. They are a Mexican gov't office that handles all these timeshare scams. Then contact your nearest Mexican embassy and tell them how this hotel has left a bad taste of the country in your mouth and will never go back or recommend anyone to visit. A bank I worked at received a fax about a travel agency making reservations for 2 at an all inclusive resort in cancun or mayan riviera in mexico for $602, redeemable within 1 year. I called them and talked to them for a while and went ahead with the reservation and payment. We were told that we would receive 1 week every other year at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, a lifetime membership to Pueblo Bonito Premier, PLUS 4 Bonus Weeks per year to stay at hundreds of affiliated hotels for these prices: $50 for a jr suite, $75 for a 1 bdrm, 100 for a 2 bdrm or $125 for a penthouse suite. First of all I did invest a conciderable amout of money with this company, yes they are a brokrage firm that would look after or trade currancies or gold in my case, for me supposably with my best interest at hand.
