Bank of America Reviews

Home Loan Modification
I applied for and received a loan modification, on my home loan with Country Wide in Dec. 2008.

Bank of America took over my loan in April 2009. I immediately began receiving letters form B of A regarding applying for the same modification, saying they needed additonal financial information.

I have sent them the same information several times, and was notified that it was received. The last letter received and the information returned May 2010.

I received a call from B of A today, Aug. 2010, and was told I owed 13, 000.00 for back mortgage, and that I was turned down for the modification in Oct. 2009. I have received no notification of anything.

B of A has received and accepted my mortgaage payments at the modified rate all this time with no contact to advise me, my payments were short. How can this be!! I was also told the 3 month deferrment, that Country Wide re-negotiated with me, by adding 10 years to my mortgage, was included in the 13, 000.00.

I would like to make my situation public and need any information on having this company stopped from the outrageous fraud they are inflicting on people and stop this practice of stealing homes.

Unfair Business Practices
I went to check the balance on my checking account and noticed that it was -850, 000 dollars. I called customer sevice and it turned into 1.5 hour and 5 different people telling me they couldnt understand it. I finally got ahold of someone from the fraud department that said the bank decided to end the relationship based on something from my credit report. I was never notified of the attempt to close my account and now i have to go without my funds (over 5000 dollars) for 15 days to process the closure. I have been a loyal customer since 2005 and this kind of business practices people should start paying attention and let everyone know never to use this bank. They obviously do not care about the individuals that made them to what they are today.

Signed a pisted off American

Making Home Affordable Retention Plan
I signed up for a home modification to avoid foreclosure and take care of a past due balance. I was "approved" for the plan and sent modification paperwork to sign and return. I made my new payments as prescribed in the modification agreement, and was told it would take a few weeks to update my account.

After 5 months, 13 phone calls dealing with 4 different departments, and assurances that everything was in order, I found out they cancelled my modification without notifying me. The person I spoke to said the reason they cancelled it is they didn't receive all of the required documentation. She also stated that it didn't make any sense because she could view all of the required documentation I sent in on her computer.

After making payments for the last several months, I have had people come to my house to verify I still occupy it, and they are proceeding to foreclosure. This is AFTER I was approved for a modification and signed and returned all required documents, as well as made all payments required under the new agreement. Only in America can my tax dollars bail these bastards out, and then they pull something like this.

House Insurance proceeds
Bank of America ripped me of legally!
I complained to them so many time, but never heard from the, the survey that they send you is just a bogus one, i put

my email address, phone and name for somebody to contact me, but they never did.
I lost my house in a national disaster, After the insurance paid me, i had to give the check to the bank (at that time

Countrywide), they gave me 1/3 of the proceeds to start rebuilding, and told me the 2nd and 3rd proceed will follow

when i started. Bank of America bought Countrywide. after that they gave me so many problems for issuing checks, that i

had to borrow money from family and friend to get my rebuilding going. They kept more than $160, 000 of my money in a so

called escrow account for more than a year and paid me less than $3 interest on it and at the same time were charging

6.5 percent interest on my mortgage!! I wanted to pay off Coutrywide at first and when it get the time to rebuild get a

construction loan with a much lower interest rate on the money that i was getting, not the money that i would be

getting! But Countrywide promised that their payment would be very easy and I shouldn't mess with it. That wasn't the

case when BOA got the loan. Anyways I lost more than $15000 in interest alone. Not to mention that every time BOA sent

me a check, they would put a hold on it at BOA, on their own check! Once I got a check for $10, 000 and took it to BOA

in Camarillo and wanted to cash it, the would give me just $1000 in cash! They said I should have called three days in

advance for getting cash. Can you believe it? I do have the name and days of all these incidents. But nobody listened

to me, ever. So my suggestion to you, if anything happens to you house, and you get a check from insurance, payoff the

bank, so you don't have a mortgage payment interest for a house that you don't have for a year or two when your are

rebuilding. I don;t know who are these lawmakers that make law for consumers that require them to give their insurance

proceeds to the bank, and not to get any interest on it, but at the same time pay interest for same money as mortgage

to the bank, and go through so much hassle and beg for your money that the bank is keeping! In a so called escrow

account ( supposedly the bank cannot touch the money, give me a f..break!).

Holding Payroll Check For Extended Period of Time
My husband was in the middle of switching jobs and we had just enough to get by and after $300 in overdraft fees (mind you they cleared 9 transactions the same day that had been pending anywhere from 1 day to 5 days under $6.00 each which made us go wayyy in the red) my husband finally gets his first paycheck from his new job.. $1, 200. Direct deposit won't be starting until next pay period..
On August 8th we go to the ATM to deposit it, finally relieved that we can get our balance back to zero and get some bills paid and best of all, eat.. The ATM gives me a reciept and I look in horror when it says funds are on hold until the 19th!!!
I get home and call the bank and demand that they either release the hold or return the paycheck and they say there's nothing they can do. Our electricity got cut off, we had no groceries for 4 days and my husband is a truck driver so we was out on the road for a week and a half with no money for food... By the time he got his pay from them they had charged us another $70 in "extended overdraft fees" and "insufficient funds" fees totaling $140.. Surprising how they didn't decline any incoming charges UNTIL my husbands paycheck was "pending."
When all was said and done $525.oo of my husbands $1, 200 paycheck went to the f***ing bank, because of all the overdraft fees and it was all because they decided to hold the only money we had hostage.. I wish we could file a lawsuit but there's no way we'd ever get anywhere.. It's wrong, unethical and they deserved to be in jail for stealing hard earned money like that.

Loan Modification
Our mortgage was transferred to Bank Of America, shortly after we entered their loan modification program it has now been a year and a half. We have complied with all the requirements several times I might add. For a year and a half we have gotten no results we hit a brick wall almost every time we called. With only one income in our household for a greater part of being in the program. Two weeks ago I called for status update on our latest submittal in late April they told me it was in the hands of the underwriter and to call back in a week or two to get an update.
Just yesterday I called and got three reasons why we were no longer in the program anymore 1. I declined the reduced rate that we have been waiting a year and half for ? 2. We were 20.00 dollars short on our last payment which automatically takes you out of the program even the customer service agent was baffled by the reason after he read it off his monitor. 3. We opted out of the program I asked when( no reply...I asked by whom (no reply just that there information couldn't be wrong??. Then I am put through to Hailey in the retention department who assures me that if I just resubmit all of our information we would be put in back into the program I asked how long would the process take another year! After getting ripped off for by a loan modification company for2, 500.oo dollars prior entering the Bank of America. We trusted bank of America although my wife had second thoughts I told her after all its Bank of America they have a good reputation and have been around for a while. What will happen to our home now? Thanks to all you companies who walk your talk (right)

Modification
Bank of America is the worst, they would not refi me but said I qualify for a modification. That was back in Oct. of 2009 by Fed. 2010 they approved trail payments. They send Fed Ex packages sometime twice a month for the same financial info over and over. The one time I did't send a package back was because the Hope team in early July said "your loan is under review" so you don't need to send us any further info. You should hear an outcome soon. Well I get a forclosure notice today nice hah!

Yeah BOA thanks for hiring all these 3rd parties and thank them for us homeowners for not doing there job that we are paying them for and thanks to the government for giving Bank of America all this money on our behalf because I'm not sure what they are doing with it but it's not coming back to us.

So the only thing I can do is go look for a personal loan to bring the account current and pray when I can refi out of Bank of America they don't but my loan back!

What the heck is up with this banking system!

Bad service
I lost my Bank of America ATM card in China. I called Bank of America Emergency Services and gave them the address of my hotel in China. Bank of America Emergency Services promised to send a new card to my hotel in China within 5 business days. Approximately seven business days later my card still hadn't arrived so I called Bank of America Emergency Services to find out from them that they "accidentally" sent my card to my home address in the US. A representative from Bank of America Emergency Services apologized profusely for the error they made and promised to send a new card within 5 business days to my new hotel, also in China. Approximately seven business days later I still had no card so I again called Bank of America Emergency Services. I spend an hour and half talking to Bank of America Emergency Services and Bank of America Customer Service trying to get the tracking number for their second attempt to send me a card in China. Finally, a supervisor at Bank of America Customer Service admits that Bank of America never attempted to send my card a second time. The supervisor told me that it is too dangerous to try to send a card to me in a foreign country, so they simply never tried. The supervisors statements confirm that I was lied to twice by Bank of America Emergency Services when told that I would receive a card in China within 5 business days. The supervisor then suggested that I have someone at my home address fish my Bank of America card out of the mail and try sending it to me here in China. This suggestion suggests to me that Bank of America would rather someone else take the risk of mailing an ATM card internationally than attempting to do it themselves. Bank of America's actions left me stranded in a foreign country for approximately two weeks with no knowledge that the cards I was waiting for were never sent.

Overdraft Fees
I urge that everyone who has ever been charged a Overdraft fee to Send $35.00 cash to the CEO of BOF
BRIAN T. MOYNIHAN
100 NORTH TROYN ST
CHARLOTTE, NC 28255

Also I have been told by a employee of BOA that the Alert system they have in place is not reliable at all and people should not depend on it to let customers know their balance.

I am happily mailing out an extra $35.00 to the CEO because its pretty obvious that he needs the money more then I do.

We are at the time where we get charged to use our own money...

Make Home Affordable
We have qualified and made all the trial period payments and been making our new reg payments. We found out they were charging us late fees since the trial period even they they told us how much to pay. Then they said we were only making partial payments. That was the first scetchy stuff they did. Now BoA has been taking our money and not posting it till its late. we paid July payment and it cleared our bank in JUNE! and they didnt post it on our acct till the 19th of July ( it was due on the 16th of July!) We paid almost 3 weeks early and they still not posting it till it late and charge us a late fee and report us late to the credit bureau. Its really sad and frustrating when u call and one day u get someone who seems to care and wants to help then when u find out it still isnt fixed u call up and get some guy from india contradicting himself 3 times over. Cant anyone help us? We are at the mercy of the big banks
