Bank of America credit card dept caused my overdraft in my Bank of America checking account.
I have a Bank of America credit card and also a Bank of America checking accout. On 8/22/09 I wrote checks from my B of A checking account. At the time I knew I had the funds to cover the checks with my
cash advance available from my B of A credit card.
When I called to do the transfer they said "because of my debt to income ratio, they had to take the cash advance available away". I have never been late on a payment to B of A and my credit score is over 700.
Needless to say I was very upset. B of A caused the overdraft on my checking by not honoring my cash advance that MY GOOD CREDIT allowed at the time my card was issued.
I notified B of A about the problem and they were not very helpful. I made 4 attempts to resolve this issue. I felt that they should have at least reversed the overdraft charges totaling $420. I am temporarily out of work at this time. This is an in house issue and I feel it should have not been a problem.
Banking ititutions should work with their customers who are temporarily having a hard time.
I also have accounts with US Bank for several years and they have alway been there for me when needed.
I am sending a copy of this complaint to the B of A branch were I opened the account and also to the
main office.
I will not do further business with B of A unless these charges are reversed. I will not pay these fees.
Thank you for your time.

rediculous practices
Bank of America and their practices need to be stopped. This company is ripping off and feeding off of Americans and I am tired of it. I checked my account for my available balance twice and both times I was showing a positive account... I took out 60 dollars when showing my available balance as 82. Now today I am in the negative with mulitple overdraft charges. This is rediculous and is happening more and more as time goes on. WHY? because no one is doing anything about BOA and their criminal practices. I am a struggling American and keep getting pushed further and further down by this bank.

Mortgage?Homeowner Insurance
I used to have my mortgage with Countrywide but it changed over to Bank of America. My Homeowners Ins. was not included in my mortgage, I paid it seperately. For a while I had no income because of health issues. I was recently declared disabled in July and was awarded SSI. Right about the same time I got a letter from BOA saying that they noticed that my insurance had lapsed and that if I did not get my own insurance by such and such date in September 09, that they were going to be putting their insurance on my bill every month. The first letter said that their bill would be around $810. I immediately called the insurance co. that I had with my car, since I have AARP, and set up my homeowners with them, which was around $779. The insurance company sent me paperwork to sign, which I did, and I called BOA, to tell them that I was sending them the paperwork for my new insurance and letting them know over the phone that I had it in place. Then, I got a call from my new insurance company saying..."Ooops! We made a mistake. We do not cover you for Wind and Hail in your Area." So, here I go again, immediately looking for insurance again. I ended up going back to the original Insurance Agent that I used to have before my insurance had lapsed and she found me insurance, including Wind and Hail for around $600. I was thrilled. While sitting in the agents officed that day, she called BOA to make sure that everything was ok with the new insurance and she also Faxed the paperwork to BOA. This was in the beginning of August. still within the time frame that BOA gave me to have my own insurance by a date in September. Ok, so now everything is ok. I thought. The next thing you know I got a letter in the mail from BOA telling me that they were going to bill me $1803.97 for their own insurance that they were going to start billing me for because I had not gotten insurance yet! I called BOA and talked to one of their insurance people. He looked up my account and told me that Yes, I was correct, that I did have my own insurance. He apologized to me and told me he would take care of the error. Well, once again, just today I got yet another big important letter from BOA, telling me that they are billing me $1803.97 for their insurance. They were going to be tacking it onto my monthly mortgage bill. I called them immediately and I was on the phone for an hour and a half, being put on hold for long periods of time. After talking to this guy, he informed me that they were going to be billing my monthly mortgage bill for $88, for the time frame of June and July for when I did not have insurance. OMG! I was furious. I said to him what the heck are you talking about? In their own letter they gave me until September to get my own insurance, which I did in August. He kept insisting that they were still going to bill me for June and July, even though that is not what the letter says. Finally, after yelling at this guy, after literally crying, because I was so frustrated, he told me, after putting me on hold again for a long time, that he spoke to his Manager, and that BOA was going to be sending me a check for $88. Because...they are billing my mortgage account for the next 12 months for the $88. So they are going to send me a check to pay for this bill, that I should not be being billed for to begin with. I asked him, why can't you just delete this bill from my account. If you are going to send me the check, than you are admitting that it is wrong to bill me this, so just delete it. He told me that they can't for some unknown stupid reason. I cannot believe what BOA has been putting me through. I have been with them for many years and I also have a credit card with them. I plan on remortgaging my home in the upcoming months. When I do, I am getting rid of the credit card bill that I owe them and I am cancelling it. I will never do business again in my lifetime with BOA.

mortgage refinancing
I refinanced my loan with countrywide mortgage now bank of america. my closing was 6/24/09 first payment 8/1/09. My 10/09 statement informed me that my payment would be increased graeter than $2, 100.00 per month from approximately$1, 65000. Thinking this was a error since my initial payment before refinancing was appox $1, 900.00. I wa smade aware that my escrowed taxes was misappropriated towards my refinancing expenses consequently leaving me deliquent for my property taxes over $4, 000.00. Had I was informed in written or verbal format I would not have refinanced. I feel what BOA did to me was elegal. I have informed my local attorney general office and will be sending more emails to anyone who will listen and act on my behalf. When President Obama made the legislation to help home owners like myself this is not what he had in mind of people taking disadvantage of.

theft of funds
On 9/29/2009 I went to the Bank of America branch on Providence Rd. in Charlotte, NC to deposit my husband's long awaited unemployment money. The money had come in the form of a NC eppicard/debit card. My husband and I share a checking account at BofA. In order to use the card to pay bills we needed to get the card into our accounts. The teller asked for my ID and BofA debit card. She had me call the eppicard to find out the exact balance; which I did in front of her. She took the eppicard and left the counter; no details were given as to how she was going to deposit the money from the eppicard. She returned a few minutes later and handed me a receipt. Before I stepped away she stopped and said she had just noticed that the name on the eppicard wasn't mine. I confirmed it was my husband's and I was depositing it in our joint account. She then told me she had not yet deposited the money but had done a cash advance for the full balance. She became very belligerent. She took the receipt she had given me back and left the counter again. After quite a while I saw her at another counter. I approached her to find out what was going on and she said she was going to reverse the advance. I told her not to but to ask for the manager. While I was waiting I saw another woman approach her and the two of them huddled at another counter for a while. Afterwards they both approached me handed me the eppicard and said the whole transaction had been reversed and told me they would have nothing else to do with it.
It is now 10/4 and the balance on the eppicard is still zero. Both my husband and I have tried numerous avenues to get them to tell us what happened to our money but they refuse. They contend that now it's a problem between us and the eppicard. My contention is that if they were not authorized to do a cash advance in the first place they should not have. This was their first error. They tried to make the error disappear by reversing the transaction and washing their hands of the whole thing. However, since they were the last people who held the money it was their responsibility to make sure they gave it back. Bottom line, we are out our money and the last people to have it just won't cooperate in any way to find out what happened to it. Any suggestions?

Said they paid my taxes and did not.
I closed my home loan and they sent me my escrow that was in my account stating my insurance and taxes were paid for 2008. In June, of 2009, i received a threatening letter from a tax service that my taxes had accumulated over 500.00 of fees and penalties. I called them and they said to send the copy of whatever i had to pay and they would see about paying me back on those fees. I did and have not heard back from them. I had to pay 1004.00 for my property taxes that should have been in the amount of 458.00.
Thanks Bank of America!!! Good quality of service from ya!!

Over draft fees and poor customer service
I have received 15 overdraft fees in the last month. A couple of them I can understand but the others I can not. When you call into the bank they make sure that they remind you that you are just barely above the poverty level. I completely did not appreciate the fact that I was advised about how my account had a low retention rate so therefore I could go ahead and close my account. I jsut can't believe that people would tell you one thing and then do another. They hide behind the same old saying " it was not the bank error, thank you and sorry". Sorry, how sorry do they think I feel that I can't pay my bills or that my children had to go to bed without anything too eat because my account was horribly overdrawn. Heck I received 3 more fees because of the overdraft fees that I received from the bank! I just needed my money back. There has to be a limit as too how many fees can be assesed on your account, heck there has to be a minimum on the amount that the fee can be assesed on. As soon as I get a chance, good thing my account has such a low retention rate because i will opening a new account today!

Overdraft charges
After having a online banking account with Bank of America in VA & moving down here to Montgomery, AL I had to chg banks & not have overdraft protection which NOW I do not have to worry with Regions for they are much better but the three years that I had an account with BofA. I guess I paid them at least two thousand in charges just about everymonth I mean every month for three years I had about $700 taken out of my checking account. I called them in Stafford & they would NEVER help me. I had to get my daughter which was on the account to go to her branch in TN and they took some ($200) charges off ONE TIME. I could not balance my checkbook at all with BofA and now I can with Regions. I still owe BofA money but I am going to be slow paying them off. They took from me when I desperately needed that money. They didn't have a bank down here in Montgomery, AL I had to drive to GA/Al border to do banking. So I am happy with Regions I have not had one complaint against them. Just wish I could get ALL of the money that was taken out of my account at BofA. Does anyone know how we (ALL of US) can make them pay us back the $35 chg. PLEASE help. Mary Anderson
