They didnt release all my credit
I ordered the Magic Jack after being told it was a great product. I went online and ordered the product then decided to do some investigating on the product. After reading all the negative feedback about this company I decided to cancel my order. I replied to an email confirmation that I recieved for my order. I told them to cancel my order as I no longer needed it. I was amazed at how fast they did this. They cancelled my order and released the hold for the $110.80 that they had on my credit card, or so I thought. Today I go on my credit card account online and I notice that someone had a hold on my credit card in the amount of $46.80. I called Capital one and they told me that Magic Jack had a hold on the credit for that amount. I am PISSED! They have no reason to put a hold on my credit card as they cancelled this order less than 24 hours after I placed the original order. They only refunded $63.10. No reason at all for them to hold onto any of my money. I sent this scam company another email telling them that they need to release my credit and do it now.

BIG RIP OFF!!!
I'll make this short because I don't have days to spend on this. We have had nothing but problems out of these people, including taking money of of my credit card before the free 30 day trial, and when we received the jack it would not install, then I contacted the online chat and spent over three hours trying to get it to work ! It never would and also done damage to my computer that can't be fixed!! we tried to return the jack and they said they had no record that we even existed or placed and order and refused to return our money. You cannot get a phone number to talk to them. so we did our own investigation and found two phone numbers that they did not want anyone to know the first is 281-404-1551 and the other is 561-594-2140. and when we called they were in shock that we found these numbers and the are still refusing to make up for any damages they have done to us. please give out these number to anyone who needs them. because I hate to see anyone get hurt. Thanks Debbie Cashwell

Customer Service chat Bad otherwise Service Good!
I recently started using Magic Jack and personally I like it but I don't like the customer service chat. If people follow the instructions and use a fairly new phone as well as get the upgrades (available on their website) if needed and their internet service provider and computer are pretty good then there are no problems. I have to admit for myself I did have to contact customer service because they billed my Debit Card right away when I thought there was a free month but that was my fault for not using a credit card which they were easily able to help me change and I got my money back the next day. Their customer service responses are sometimes generic and it will seem like they are not listening to you and I was switched to another customer service rep. This person was very helpful and assisted me with my billing issue and helped me setup my magic jack completely. I think since this company is fairly new respectively, like all companies they have to work out some kinks especially with contacting customer service. But as other here have said that they don't have a customer service number that is untrue they do it just has a very annoying repeating message while you wait for someone to answer. That number is : 281-404-1551 but this is only for billing issues and you could be on hold a while. Regardless they need to get more live Reps and thats that. But honestly I recommend anyone to try it for the free month and if you don't like it you'll be refunded, it's worth a try at saving money especially in this economy!

Doesn't work
We have purchased the majic jack and it sucks, there is no other word for it. When we recieve incoming calls we have anywhere from one minute to three minutes before it hangs up and that is if we even recieve them. Often times it goes directly to voice mail and then people hang-up. When making outgoing calls we are lucky to last about five minutes, tops! We have lost several calls when we were trying to take care of business and what not. This service is very annoying and I hate it. I feel like we got ripped off big time. We did not get what we bought and there is no way of contacting these people. It says that it has caller ID well it does as long as you know the number of anyone who may be calling you, if you don't then you have no idea who's calling. Also you cannot call the people back using the caller ID because the area code is not included so you have to memorize the freaking number and then call them back. I've hated this since we got it and I wish that we never did. I hope that other people that may be decideing wheater or not to get read this and don't!!! You won't be saving any money, just wasting it. DON'T GET DUPED LIKE WE DID!

TERRIBLE service
I bought this over 6 months ago.. can not use it.. you cant hear anything (it sounds like static.)when you call someone.
No way to contact them to cancel billing.
I will sue them if they try to hold money out of checking without contacting me first.

Dont buy it
I can't make calls unless I disable my firewall. They don't have a number you can call to troubleshoot problems, you can only chat with an "agent" online. The only thing they can tell me is to disable my firewall. The firewall is there for my protection, so I don't get virus's and other things that can damage my PC. Don't even bother with this company, I'm switching back to Vonage.

no service, lies on ads,rude
I purchased 2 magic jacks and 1 extended service on 1. Initial service for 1 day was fair, then the quality was poor to bad. I could not reach a real person and was put on electronic outsource to a individual was really poor on customer service. All magic jack wants in MONEY coming in and the most difficult return procedures I have seen in 66 years. I had put the purchase on my credit card and sent the whole mess back to them and hope for a return. My credit card has been notified and I feel a delay on their part. I seen another ad on TV this morning and it sickens me that this SCAM is allowed to continue to operate. Hopefully, the Florida attorney General shuts them down. Thank you

Charged for service that is cancelled
I am being charged every month since October for Magic Jack service that I cancelled before I even received it. The system has never been activated, I rejected delivery when they sent the system anyway (after I cancelled). It will not work on my system according to Cavalier Internet which is my phone and Internet provider and yet they continue to charge my account. This needs to investigated, I understand this is a recurring problem with them and has affected a lot of people.

Fraud and scam
Purchased MJ and it worked fine for a couple of months then I got an error message about having to plug it into the USB port. It WAS plugged into the port. I downloaded the fix-it file and it still didn't work. I spent about 8 maybe 9 HOURS in about 4 or 5 sessions trying to get it fixed. Every time I attempted to text with them we had to start all over from the beginning. It was a real pain trying to get past the chat stuff. THEY don't have a phone #. Isn't that strange, no phone number for a company that touts being able to make phone calls for free? The help? tech support had me doing everything including re-booting my machine. Guess what? when you call back you can't get to the same person that knows what you have gone through. They ended up taking me into the regedit file (or something like that) and making changes (twice) when it was all over I could no longer find my CD burner, my DVD burner, anything else that was on a USB port and I couldn't uninstall the MagicJack. Finally, I told them to just quit pretending and send me a new MJ. I have since taken my computer to the shop, added another hard drive, moved everything to the new drive, reformatted the C: drive, re-loaded windows XP, moved my programs and documents back and I am now going to use an old barebones computer to have MJ loaded with Outlook so I can finally use this wonderful money-saving device. So far this technological wonder has cost me about 24 hours and about $600.00. If they had a phone # it would be a lot faster trying to make this marvel work. I am convinced that IF I had been able to speak with someone that knew what was going on they could have made this thing work. Unfortunately, the first person you chat with is a Dodo and when you are kicked up to someone that has real tech experience you get to start over from the beginning because THEY don't trust their cohorts to have done the right thing.
