HitchFinder.com
August 24, 2006
I purchased a class I hitch from Hitchfinder.com in Feb.2006. It was out of stock and took almost a month for it to arrived. I realized I needed a class II hitch and reordered the correct hitch which they charged to my credit card and was told I would get credit when they received the old one. I got an RMA # and shipped UPS. on 3/08/06 they received the hitch on 3/13/06. I still have not been credited with the refund. I called 5/29/06 and was told they would refer it to the accounting department as of 7/10/06 still no refund. read full review »

Alamo
August 17, 2006
I recently went to the San Francisco airport Alamo. After waiting in-line for over a half-hour, the paperwork was completed and my wife and I went into the parking lot to get our car. They kept us stending in the parking lot for over 30 minutes, and it appeared that they did not have a car that matched our paperwork. When we loudly complained, the manager became aggressive and threatened us, saying that if we continued to complain that they would call the Police! When the Alamo city manager arrived, they sided with the rude... read full review »

Payless Car Rental
August 17, 2006
Payless offers a lower cost service online for car rentals. However, once you arrive at the desk to pick-up your car they use a series of bait and switch type behaviors to add a series of add-ons. It is high pressure sales and in my case an outright lie to add additional insurance coverage and a misrepresentation of the total cost. I attempted to find the manager once I checked with my insurance company on the coverage I had for a rental. When I was at the car return the manager was inside, when I went inside the manager was at the car... read full review »

Thrifty Car Rental
August 17, 2006
August 4, 2006 10:30 pm. Had a confirmed reservation with a dutch address and passport at Thrity St Louis Airport. At arrival the agent Joshua refused to honor the reservation and contract saying I did not have a valid drivers license. He would not help, offer any advice, or assist in any way. Thrifty and Joshua was content to leave me stranded all night in St. Louis after they had promised me a car. Finally carried my suitcase to Enterprise and had no problem, but paid 3 times the price. I think THRIFTY and Agent Joshua might have rented the... read full review »

Jeep Chrysler
August 15, 2006
Our 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee air conditioning evaporator developed a leak. After getting estimates from several repair shops we found out that this has been an on going problem in Jeeps and that there hasn't been a recall for this problem from the manufacturer. This repair is very expensive to repair. We paid the Jeep dealership in Merritt Island, Florida over $750.00 to get this fixed. This dealerhip also told us that a recall should have been issued for this defect but never was. Does anyone know of any recourse we might have to recoup all or at least some of these expenses. read full review »

Car Care Center
August 14, 2006
Warning: Car Care Center on Broadway, Texas is RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! Car Care Center Complaint My 2001 Chevrolet Suburban would not drive over 40 mph. I dropped it off at Car Care Center and spoke to Dean. He said he could fix it and it would be ready later that day. Quoted me $550 to fix the car. I agreed to this. Since Care Car Center claimed to be AAA and ASE certified as well as BBB members. The logos are on the card he hands out. I rented a car at Enterprise to drive back to the beach house. Called Dean later in the day... read full review »

Justin Chrysler Dodge Calhoun, Ga
August 11, 2006
A remote starter was to be installed and for four days we sat and waited never to hear from them again. I called several times and was told I'll call you back and each time I had to call back. This was promised as a sales tactic and after the deal was made we didn't hear from them again. Once the car was paid for they thought they could give me the run around as I am a woman and buying the car for my mother. When they did finally pick up the car, they kept it all day and never returned the car until I got in from work and had to... read full review »

U-Haul

I reserved a two wheel car dolly to transport a new vehicle from Toledo, Ohio, home to Hudson, Wi. My reservation was to pick up in Sylvania, Ohio on 7/2/06. The 1800gouhaul service rep stated that someone would call me the day before to arrange time and location. I gave my credit card # and my wife and I took a not very fuel efficient truck to Toledo to pull the new car home. On 7/2 I called to get location because no-one had called me the day before as they indicated they would. I was told that I would be called by 5 p.m.. I was ok with... read full review »

Mr Transmission
August 10, 2006
On May 29th 2006, I called several Transmission place to get a quote on my repair, I contacted Mr Transmission in Ft Walton Beach Fl, Only to hear them slamming another company that I went to as for example, They will over charge You, Won't work right, and a THIEF. I therefore decided to go with Mr Transmission due to the fact I'm from Sioux Falls South Dakota. I brought my vehicle to McGee shop for them to test drive it and take a better look at it only to get a phone call back saying it will cost me anywhere from 1600-1800... read full review »

Saturn of Scottsdale
August 10, 2006
We took our new 2005 Saturn relay to the dealership for an oil change. We live 3 1/2 hours away in a small town in the mountains. On the way home it wouldn't drive any faster than 45 mph. We arrived home late that night. Next day when I backed out of the garage I saw oil on the garage floor. I called Saturn and they advised me to take it to a garage in our town. We did. It had 14 quarts of oil in it. It holds 5. They towed our van to their dealership and kept it a week and a half. When it was retuned we were handed a receipt for the work... read full review »

Renault
August 9, 2006
I bought a car at Renault Germiston in March 2006. The car instalment was R999 with a deposit of 10 %. When I approached the dealer I was told that I need to put in a deposit of R16 000 to qualify for the R999 monthly instalment. I then put it a deposit of R16 000. A pre-paid motor service for the car was issued to me which was valid for the period of 2 years or 45 000 KM. To my surprise, at the end of the month, an amount of R1450 was deducted from my account. I approached the dealer with this matter and I was told that it will be... read full review »

My husband and I were shopping for a new vehicle on Saturday July 1, 06 and had a salesperson ask us for our credit card to "seal the deal". We had NEVER heard of such a thing and left shortly after to go purchase our vehicle at O'Brien Toyota. We were VERY satisfied with our salesperson there and were NEVER asked to give our credit card to them. Do you know if asking for a credit card is a practice that we were not aware of? If so, what use is it? There was only one reason to take our card that we could think of and it wa... read full review »

Inland Auto and Boat
August 8, 2006
I purchashed a Used Boat from Inland Auto and Boat, Perris Ca boat dealer around May 1 2006. The first time we brought it out on the lake the engine died. The boat was returned to the dealer and they stated they would fix it. The boat was returned back to us a week later and then we took it out again, exact same problem existed but this time we had to pay a $195 tow bill to get back in to the launch area. It has been 8 weeks now, the boat has been returned back to the dealer 5 times for the exact same problem. On one of the days they had it for repair, they even damaged the Bow and ripped the seats. read full review »

Bought jag 2006 xj8, new, two months ago. Filled tank with gas, drove into garage, smelled gas and saw gasoline spilling onto floor. On 23 March 2006, I purchased two Avon tires from ABE Cycles that Abe indicated were new tires. As it turns out, it seems that Abe has a very large supply of tires that appear to have been stored in the dank and dark for an unknown amount of time and are not as new as Abe would like you to believe.
