This rental service is like RedBox but much worse. The Movie Cube Kiosk went out of order when I tried returning a DVD 2 days after I rented it. I spoke with the grocery store clerk and they said they would handle it and I should come back another day. The toshiba DLP lamps are supposed to last 6000-8000 hours. Not even close. I've gone about 4000, then 3000, then about 300. The third lamp I bought was again a genuine Toshiba part, but they won't honor my warranty because I didn't pay enough for the lamp. I have a Denon Home Theatre System that no longer will read a DVD or CD. I had purchased a warranty through Circuit City. Since the liquidation, the underwriters, "City Assure" have taken over honoring the warranty. I purchased a magazine from a door-to-door salesperson. The money went through my account but it's been over two years and i haven't received an issue! I even called their number on my receipt and spoke with a woman to complain that i hadn't gotten any issues and that it had been nearly a year. On 1/11/09 I purchased online what was advertised as a brand new DVD set of "The Practice". What I received were homemade DVD's taped off the cable channel FX. Not only that, at least 2 episodes on each disc were unwatchable-I suspect they were taped off digital cable. Brent Fair sold tickets for TAPSCON 2009 while in dispute with the hotel he was having the event at.
