I was approached at my front door by a charming young lady with a tale of how she was earning "points" by selling magazines. She was a single mother, was once on drugs, etc. etc., but now she was turning her life around by earning these "points". A very slick, convincing presentation. Same story as the others here, the well-dressed young man claimed he was trying to get back on his feet and was selling magazine subscriptions to do so. I canceled my service on July 17 08. I was on the phone with direct tv - yet again complaining about bad reception or channels just disappearing. The operator said they could send someone out for about $90.00 to look at my receiver. I said no thank you cancel my service. They said i owed them money. My mother was a victim of the sales scam performed by crafty sales people of Prestige Sales. Both sa;es people (male and female) were dressed neatly and told her they were neighbors of hers and pointed to a house across the street from us. This company calls with all kinds of promises sweepstakes with what a big charge to your account. The experience we had at this restaurant over the weekend was the worst we have ever experienced. We were accused of lying about saying they hadn't put sour cream on our item that was ordered. Then when they realized they were wrong they said that it was our fault that we had never ordered it in the first place, which we had. The second and third games I was able to get to wook but only for a couple of weeks and then I get a message that said that I was denied access to them. I was also taken in by xxxblackbook and had ALL of the same issues, many messages or "flirts" not one response..it is all a HUGE scam. I did however get my money reimbursed! I have provided the site address for EPOCH the billing agent who canceled my account and reversed the charges ($119) as I was "unsatisfied with the service". RCN is the worst cable company service I have ever had to deal with. Not only are their tech support people incompetent, they barely spoke English. I had service activated 9/21/2008 and had decent picture quality and internet service. I started to experience trouble in around 10-10-2008 where my picture went in and out and my internet stopped working. I called tech support to see if they can help and after holding for about 45 minutes I finally got to speak to an actual person. Downloaded free trial program. It does diagnosis, then says you must purchase full copy to remove spyware. Purchased full version, downloaded it. It is the same as the free trial version, and gives me the same message that I need tp purchase. Contacted the company using their only provision, of email. All I get is an autoresponder with a link to frequently asked questions. Answer is not there. This company are a con. They advertise $2008 dollars for 60 minutes and anything you win over that amount during that time (up to $100) you can keep as long as you deposit $50. So we won the $100, deposited $50 into the real money play and the $100 winnings were transferred over to real money play. Went for breakfast. Ordered ham and eggs (small ) and eggs came on one plate just fine other plates over easy were over burnt. They replaced. The ham for $7.99 was a joke. Itwas like a childs portion-two pieces on each plate the size of two silver dollars. The ticket was wrong but was corrected.
