This trutech television is junk! My mother purchased a 13" Tv/DVD combo from Target for my sons Christmas gift. He opened the television on December 25 and today, December 27 the DVD is no longer working. My biggest complaint is that Target will not stand behind this product. I have the original packaging for the TV and they will not even exchange it without a receipt. This is extremely frustrating and upsetting as we are not even able to locate any warranty information on the product or a phone number for contacting Truetech directly for repairs. I ordered a plasma TV on 20 December 2007. I have received no shipping information even though my credit card was charged on 20 December. (Today is 27 December). When I call customer service at PriceMad, they keep shifting me around to four or five different people, none of which know where my tracking number is. I normally would never order so close to the holidays, however, the website advertised -"fast and free delivery." The Akai service center has had my 42 inch (2 years old) plasma tv for 1 month. They claim they cannot get parts to repair the display from Akai. Either Akai doesn't make a good product (2 years on a tv that hasn't been used daily!) or the service center is not telling the truth. I will never go to this establishment, and I highly recommend that people stay away. The door guy has serious anger issues (and a napoleon complex). The management supports this attitude. We had Dish Network for 12 months. First, the monthly billing was NOT what they had promised. I order Direct TV in Sept 07 with hi def. Now they take 3 hi def channels that came with the hi def package, and they separate them now into another 5 dollar add on. When I call them they say their continually trying to improve their service with additional programming. The improvement however is to their benefit. This company is doing mass hirings under the guise of customer service representative. There is no mention of sales in the interviews or until you have been in training for four weeks. By the time they put you out on the phones you have little to no experience in sales. They then start pressuring you to sell sell sell or lose your job.
