I bought a black lab born on 3/10/10 to George and Katie (dogs). Was told no hip problems. My 9 month old dog has VERY BAD hip dysplasia, which will require hip replacements in a few years. I was told by breeder, Debbie, that there is nothing she can do about this. She states that she has never had a complaint about hip problems in the past from any of the pups she has sold. Vets recommend to STOP breeding if an offspring has hip dysplasia, a very painful and expensive problem. My 9 month old black lab walks like an 11 year old with bad arthritis. My sister bought a pup from these people a couple of weeks ago and the pup is very sick. Vet speculates it is because of in-breeding which led to the baby doll face of her Pom. All of their pups look the same. Poor Pom-Pom has breathing problems, eye and ear problems because of the structure of her face. I am appalled and totally disgusted with the service I have received from the SPCA in Springfield Park Durban. A few weeks ago a stray cat had shown up at my house which was extremely ill. I had called the vet closest to me but due to the fact that it was a Saturday afternoon, they were closed so my only alternative was to call the SPCA on their emergency line.
