On 2/sep, my parents and me were about to leave london to BeiJing. Before departing, we planed do the "tax-free" through the travlex in heathrow 3 . The terrible thing is the staff there is really rude. When she checked my tax free receipt, my father happened cough a little bit loudly. I cannot believe that they use the word "disgusting" . We received a phone call stating we had not used a vacation package we had purchased and that this company would re-activate that package PLUS add another vacation. The deal was 4 days/3 nights in Orlando, 4 days/3 nights in the Bahamas, 3 days/2 nights in Daytona Beach, passes to some Orlando theme park, 7 days car rental, plus 5 days/4 nights in Cancun. We went to Albion for our honeymoon. More or less the third day we were at the hotel, both our shoes were stolen, what a mess as you don’t bring a spare set with you on vacation and tekkies on the beach…….not nice!!! I am a 11 year customer with Harrahs. A DIAMOND player. In July 2010, I received a handpay from a machine for 809.00. The handpay was in question, I questioned the payout, the slot attendant called for a VISUAL, a supervisor also validated the payout, and they also called, TECH SUPPORT to the machine, after all of this I signed for and accepted the payout. 24-7 Ride called me at 8:30 in the evening to tell me they weren't coming for my 6:30 a.m. trip to the airport for a business trip. They said they had tried to reach me -- but I had no messages on my machine from them (machine is working fine, thankyou). They said they had one car break down (excuse me, isn't this a transporation fleet?) and something like, we're not coming to your area. They had plenty of time to process a credit but mysterioulsy, just the chareges are showing on the credit card bill. I'm advising my company not to pay it. Date: June 19, 2010 On June 18th while on my way to the Houston Airport my wife and I were robbed, the single bag that was stolen contained my passports and about $8, 500.00 of other items. This company requires a $50 "activation fee" to process a free stay at a resort as long as you attend one of their timeshare presentations. The contract clearly states that this activation fee will be refunded as long as you attend the presentation. They ask for 120 days following the completion of your truip in which to process the refund. We took our trip in early April, attending the presetation, validated that attendance with the time share presenters, and we thought all was well. I don't make mistakes twice. I learned my lesson before when I was told after getting 'free' trip and a bunch of other ones (for $300). Months after that, these guys called me saying that I had a remaining balance for my trips. Crap. So I paid around $1000 for doing absolutely nothing. I was told I would be represented by a great company that was doing presentations and that 500.oo USD was needed for prizes to get people interested in buying my time share for Orange Lake . I was explicitly also told my full $500.00 would be returned at the end of a yr by requesting it, if they had not sold time share for agreed on price. I've been to the Grand Sierra Resort on multiple occasions and it seems like almost every time I stayed there or visited there I had a bad experience once I booked tickets for a show. I specifically asked for front rows seats. When I arrived at the show I was escorted to a booth in the 10th row or so. I made reservation for 1 day and when I arrived, they had no record. I had confirmation number and they said it was the day b-4. and that I was charged no call no show. If I want to stay, I'd have to pay full price for the room again. The room was lousy and nasty. Per the desk and 800 number given me, The manager was unreachable for any help. My wife & I checked in to the Days Inn located in Rancho Cordova CA. The room we were given was crawling with insects and there were cockroaches in the beds. The toilet was missing the bolts that secure it to the floor & the elevator was out of order for almost two weeks. We were moved to another room & it was just as bad as the first, this room went a bit further with the soiled towels and stained sheets. I too have been scammed by these people. I have contacted my bank to ensure this so called company is investigated. I too was under the impression this was a free vacation that I had won, I was then informed this vacation was a reduced/discounted holiday. I have always been wary of credit card scams, however these people are very believable and if you try to contact them you get a recorded message only. Staff did not adhere to the "customer is always right rule" Manager had nothing better to do than to tell us you can't jump in pool, you cant keep you wet towels/bathing suit on lounge chair, you cant play ball, you cant use that bbq...The rooms were spacious but the sheets had blood stains and hair on them.
