The house that I rented from this company in South Lake Tahoe is so poorly maintained, that it is uninhabitable! Its filthy. It smells. And nothing works right. Their web site lies. Told they needed to up the sale price $1, 000 dollars to get a better interest rate, but would refund me the money (I did get a copy of the check request). Now mid July no check!!! I have lived in River Oaks Apartments for over 3 years. It has been a wonderful, clean, and kept up environment until Avalon Oaks, LLC took over as management. During the winter months, walkways and parking lots do not get plowed. This summer, no one has landscaped around the building. Bushes are overgrown, weeds are growing tall, and grass is rarely cut. There is also trash overflowing in the pool area. Outside, lights are burnt out and some apartment windows are broken. No matter how many times you call and complain, they do nothing. Ran a misleading ad on Yahoo homepage - I fell for it, a free info packet - only charge shipping - once they got credit card #, they said I signed up for a service and charged my card monthly until I noticed and called my credit card company. We bought online under an advertised aura of "heavy duty top quality tarps". After receiving our three tarps, we discovered one had a hole, and all were flimsy and not waterproof. Hammer Auto is not to be trusted. They have shady business practices. Their contract uses deceptive language, they DO NOT GET THE CHEAPEST DEALS, they do bait and switch, and routinely renege on their promises, and to top it all off, Rober Hammer is arrogant, abusive, and rude.
