closed accountafter paying it off
Towhom it may concern:
Same old same old. Ive been an account holder for over 10 years 720+ beacon score, paid my accounts on time, butwhen i paid my $21000.00 balance off before it defaulted to the money gouging 13% rate they simply decided to close my account. Im a finance manager with a six figure income
with no mortgage open and i understand a little about debt to income and their reasoning for closing the account just didnt make sense. I agree i am guilty for taking advantage of their 0% teaser rate(of which they make 4% in fees) so its like using money for almost nothing, yet the government is lending it to them for 0%!!!with our taxpayer money!!!
This just smells bad... shame on BANK OF AMERICA .When things get better in the economy dont you come to me and ask for my business or any of my acquaintances, which have complained of the same tactics.
Chase will continue to earn my business for the time being.

CLOSED ACCOUNT
All I can say is that I am ANGRY... very ANGRY at Bank of America for ruining my - up until now - perfect credit history!
I had to leave in June for business overseas for 3 months. Prior to leaving, I had so much to do to arrange travel and arrangements that I was late on ONE payment to Bank of America. I had never been late or delinquent in my 3 years.
Due to the expenses of moving, I could only make a partial payment on my card. Once I settled overseas, I made more than the minimum payment to make up for being late and making a partial payment.
I called Bank of America today and discovered they had CLOSED my account! I was outraged and spoke to several representatives from the credit and risk departments. They bounced me everywhere. Finally, Sharon Forest tells me that they closed my account for being 60 days late (ie, missing one payment and paying partial, which was counted as the next month) and for other UNNAMED delinquencies on my credit report. When I probed further, they wouldn't give me any information.
I told her this was outrageous that they would close an account that had never been late before and was only 60 days late (really only 1 month late, but they counted a partial payment as an additional month). I told them I would never have anything to do with them again, to which she hung up on me.
They are complete theifs! Looking at my credit report, there was only 1 delinquency on an $11 medical bill I didn't pay while overseas. What kind of crock is that? They essentially ruined my history over 1 $11 medical bill and being 1 month late. I later learned they massively closed accounts in June - anything that looked at all risky to them. So, I was a victim of their own business practices! THANKS A LOT B of A! I hope you get what's coming to you!

Customer Service
Have been trying to call for two weeks and the two times the phone has been answered, I have been transferred to lines with no voicemail on them. They are not much better in-person either. I worked with a personal banker to open a small business account and the manager who assisted her was rude to her and didn't even acknwledge our presence.

Over Draft Fees abuse by BofA
This bank was notified previously about abusing my account due to charges not applied by me. Yet they refused to handle my claims and instead took thousands of dollars from me on an account that was only for use for transferring funds to my mother in Texas. I had a total of $46.00 to keep it open and when somehow that account was used by unknown parties I notified BofA and filed my claims. Later to find out that I could only file a claim for 60 days from the date of calling. They specifically told me that.
After filing the complaints they dismissed my complaints and had to refile them as the lady that I spoke to must of thought I was rich and full of it. To this date they only credit me some charges from the Hartford insurance that were never authorized. They never called me to tell me the status of my claims, after I took the time to call them they again told me that my claims were dismissed and they would not refund me anything. I am a disabled american veteran and had to close my accounts there after being with them for many of years. They did not care or wish to listen. They just took the money at their own will and left me hanging out to dry. Where is the government on all these complaints filed throughout the internet. Is it maybe they found a way to cover the payback for the stimulus package. From the Poor, Elderly, Disabled Veterans, etc., , , , ,
Excuse my spelling and grammar. This just has me wondering what else can happen.

Unwarranted Overdraft Fees
I'm dedicated to avoiding overdraft fees. So dedicated that I rely on checking my bank account AND e-mail MULTIPLE times a day to ensure that there have not been any changes, updates, low balances, etc.
And BofA DOES IT AGAIN! I received an e-mail last night claiming an "extended overdrawn fee to be applied on October the 19th because of consistent overdraft fees within a week".
I'm checking my bank account online, and I see NO RED! I'm wondering "where's the overdraft?"
The lady on the phone this morning points me to a little link that is a "new" feature, which shows ACCOUNT TRANSACTION HISTORY. I think to myself "why would I need a separate link for that if BofA had already integrated that into my account screen?"
Here's why: If you don't know where to go, and they don't tell you, then you go where you know and it shows that nothing is wrong. Then, after your deposits clear, they take the money and say "Sorry Charlie, that's 'unfortunate'" I'm done with this bank and any others. And I will be on the FRONT LINES...AGAIN...if another bailout for these crooks is even suggested.
Be wary, BofA customers.

refinance
We started a refi. in May, and have yet to close. We more than qualify, have a high income, excellect credit score, and a long positive history with B of A. They couldn't ask for a better qualified customer. Yet, we have been given the run around. Constantly asked for the same info., from numerous people that we speak to only once. There is absolutely NO chain of command. The left foot doesn't know what the right foot is doing. It has caused huge stress and frustration. Then they have the nerve to send out an inexperienced, unqualified appraiser who shot our property value down with numerous descrepencies and misinformation. I mean, how do you miss a bathroom or a fireplace, etc... Bank of America has been a huge dissappointment. It means nothing anymore to earn a great income, have great credit and payment history and be a long standing client (23 years). They should be ashamed to call themselves Bank of AMERICA. They should be called Bank of take um for a ride. Its been a pretty awful right. Suzanne S. california

Could there be a worse Bank?
We currently have two Bank of America accounts. One mortgage, and one unsecured line of credit. We had been victims of the economy, with a job loss for 13 months and now finally back to work! We did everything in our power to stay current on all of our accounts, and most banks/credit cards like Discover and Chase, were VERY accomodating. Bank of America did NOTHING to help with late fees or interest rates. We stayed current on our mortgage for the entire 13 months, but received two late charges for being nore than 15 days late the last two months. Customer service said there was nothing they could do help us being we had 2 late charges in the last 18 months. I probably would have preferred a slap in the face. It sickens me that a company like this gets away with raising interest rates, refusing to help the consumer in an economy that they helped create!

On July 26, 2008 My husband sent a wire transfer in the amount of 3, 300 to account holder at Bank Of America. The wire transfer was for a 97 mazda RX7 that he never recieved. After that wire transfer they said that we would have to do another wire transfer cause this one expired. I told my husband that he is not going to do that and he agreed he then contacted ebay and they told him that It was a fraudelent act and he should go to his local police department... So we did that I contacted the bank numerous times and they do not want to help We live in New York and this occured in Las vegas, Nevada... We need help and no one wants to help us..

Mortgage
I obtained a mortgage in July only to have it sold to this bank a month later (oh joy). I have made 17 calls to attempt to have someoone respond to our request for our final draw on a remodel but this bank won't even call back. The inspector has tried to get them to respond to no avail. Is there another bank failure in our near future?
