Totally illogical and backward business practice
CellC Connect has a 1 month free delivery insurance for a cell phone being delivered upon upgrading or renewal of a contract. CellC Connect requires this insurance for their own purposesprotection during the delivery period by their appointed courier UTI. It is strange, then, that it is the responsibility of the clientrecipient of the cellphone to cancel an insurance policy, at own expense, heshe did not require nor request.

During the initial upgrade renewal phone conversation, I clearly said that I do not require phone insurance, yet a policy has now been issued by Phonesured. I wonder how many other thousands of upgrading customers have been irritated by this totally illogical and backward business practice, and how many unwilling customers have been bagged by Phonesure.

I hate complaining, but they leave me no choice.
Look, I hate complaining, but they leave me no choice. They did it again. My phone is barred. I cannot make any calls. I phoned their help desk several times. Each time I get transferred to the contract department, and then I'm put on hold for 15 minutes. After which I just get fed up and put the phone down. I e-mailed their Customer Service, and i haven't received any reply. Its like there isn't a call centre. I spoke to Ntlantla, she couldn't give a awnser and just transfered me again to the infamous contract centre.

This happened before. They told me my account was in arrears, so I made a payment, and afterwords found out it wasn't in arrears. and they credited my account.

Cell C, if you are reading this, don't even bother phoning me, (not that you will anyway) I am so fed up. I am going to cancel my contract with you, and go to a different service provider. I am stunned, and disappointed.

Still waiting on a response from Cellc
I lost my cellphone 2 weeks ago. Extremely inconvenient and frustracting. I then completed an application form for CCover claim. This claim was only approved on Monday. Cellc claims to have a 48hour turnaround time. One, you wait forever on the phone for a consultant to assistance and then they cannot assist you with your enquiry. They transfer you from one call centre to the next. I wait 2 hours and no answer. How pethetic is that. To date no one has returned or contact me regarding my phone. The consultant keeps on telling me that your application is approved and someone will get back to you. I cannot wait any longer as I use my phone for work as well. Can some phone me or send me a new phone. What the hell is going on at cellc. Do you have to many customers and are struggling to service them all. I think that is the problem. I send emails and phone everyday and receive no response. How pethetic. I cannot wait for my contract to end so I can switch my 4 contracts I have with you.

Debit on my account 13 mths after denied contract
In May 2008 Cell C connect phoned me with an offer of a pre-approved cell phone offer. I thought is was an excellent offer and said yes they can send me the phone. After about a week I received a sms telling me that the contract was not granted even as it was pre-approved. Now (after 13 months)since June 09 my bank account get debited with R29 for an email account, because I didn't cancel the email account. This account as I heard now was included in this offer they pre-approved and then denied. My question is why do I have to pay for this now if the origanal offer was denied, and according to the Consultant if I said yes they cant do anything about the money that is being deducted from my account. Well obviosly I said yes but because the contract was denied everything included in the pre-approved offer must obviosly also be denied. How can 1 part of the offer be denied and the other part gets approved 13 months later. If a person dont qualify they dont qualify for only a part of an offer?? I have called many times but now one can give me a straight answer.

Never never never again will I support this useless company
Today it is four days short of TWO months since I handed in my handset to Cell C at East Rand Mall to have the front cover replaced. And I am still not sure when I will get my phone back. I have had to initiate ALL communication with Cell C during this time as they NEVER return calls or answer emails etc.

Even after getting a senior manager directly involved with my problem I still have only empty promises and no handset. I was just informed that the handset is with the manufacturer or supplier and that it is not clear when I can expect it back.

Never never never again will I support this useless company!!! As soon as my contracts run out I will go to another service provider.

Stay far away from them
Upon entering the Cell-C store I knew that this would be a pointless exercise. Our Mobile Providers have become monopolies within themselves & as a consumer & a good client u don’t get the answers u want. I have a problem with my phone, not to mention the poor reception I have in the area I live, but my phone always freezes. I am on a business package & spend a lot of money with Cell-C. I asked the service staff at the branch if they could look at my phone & advise me on the way forward. Bluntly I was told, parrot style, that the best they could do is to send it in and I need to wait anything up to 5 weeks for it to be returned. I told them that this is completely unacceptable. Another gentleman joined the conversation and asked the lady, “did you tell him what to do” I was not impressed with this tone. He reconfirmed the process and told me if I didn’t like it I should call the head office, or go on Hello PeterThis I found both comical and extremely strange – was this a dare or just pure ignorance needless to say I just turned around and left. If I could change subscribers today I will. I have another two contracts with Vodacom and the differences in the brands are huge.

Took a double debit order of R688.28 from my account
Cell C cancelled my contract and they collect the phone and sim from me because of retrenchment. On the 28th of August, they took a double debit order of R688.28 from my account. First I want to know why a double debit order and secondly how can they take it, if the contract is cancelled?!

I do not have a income and my husband paid some money into my bank account to buy food for the house. As I needed the money, it was all gone, because Cell C took everything. I am not happy about this and I want my R1376.56 back!!!

I could not buy food for the house and it was our last money!! Really I am satisfy about this and because of Cell C, I can not feed my family this month!!!

Cell C and VVM Attorneys the worst service provider and Legal firm ever.
I have cancelled this contract in around 2006 due to poor service and Cell C that did not met their part of the contract due to poor service and over billing. Beginning of this year 2010 I received a call from VVM Attotneys to pay an account of R23000. I have requested a full break down of this account. Because the amount I am charged with is ridiculous R23000.00 for cancelling of this contract. In the first place on cancelling of this contract I was not told that I am going to pay this amount. My Legal team has also tried calling VVM Attorneys and emailed them to sort this matter out but with no luck. Their contact numbers don’t work at all they don’t reply back on their emails or faxes. But you get screwed up to pay. This is going on for 6 months.

Unsolicited phone calls
Today I received a call on my cell phone from a lady who works for Cell C. There was so much background noise that I could not hear her name. This is not the first time that Cell C has called to offer me a free phone - only problem is that this is a lie - it is not a free phone, i is subject to a 24 month contract. Well, I don't need a contract, I have a perfectly good one with MTN and don't see any reason to change. When I told the lady that I was not interested and asked her to please put a big note next to my name that I object to calls of this nature, she promptly put the phone down on me - not a good impression of Cell C. Now even if I was looking to change cell phone providers it would not be to Cell C!

I am sick and tired of trying to get a refund
On 23 June 2009 my husband wrongly paid his cellphone account into the bank account of Cell C instead of Altech Autopage. We have sent e-mails, made telephone calls, sent faxes - too many to even keep count of and we still cannot get a refund from Cell C. Now my husband is being handed over by Altech Autopage for his outstanding account! I have a heap of paper with names and numbers of people we have spoken to and my husband even rode all the way to Midrand without any joy. Sometimes we get a name and number and when we phone the next time we are told there is no-one by that name working there! This is past ridiculous - Cell C is quick to take your money but no way, Jose, will they pay you back. We have had more expenses trying to get R816.00 from Cell C that the actual payment of R816.00 itself. Cell C ****s!!! Viva Vodacom!!!
