Fasfa.com
I cannot understand how a company can use a government acronym like the letters fasfa and not be considered scaming people. I googled fasfa to fill out application for student aid for my son. fasfa.com is the first thing to pop up so I filled out application then paid $79.00 from my debit card only to find out the real site is fasfa.ed.gov and it is free to apply. I think GOOGLE should not allow them to use the same acronym as it is very misleading and taking advantage of parents trying to get some financial aid for students. fasfa.com charged my debit card immediatly but the application was not processed that day which was the deadline to apply. read full review »
Gibbs school
I attended Gibbs school/college, I was told that my education would be very prestigious and I would have no trouble finding work. They were a little helpful in trying to find me work when I was still there, but I just went to their site and none of the classes I took are no longer in the curriculum.I feel that they were holding classes that were not up to date, and were not futuristic of the current job market and economy. read full review »
Devry University Online
Before enrolling I was very concerned about my aid covering every expense. I was told it would cover my costs and after five weeks of begging for them to help me and explain the process to me. I found myself struggling with a bill and I have no idea what I am even paying for. I also was told they would block my classes if I did not call them. Why bother to call because they do not care about my finances. I live on a very tight budget of $792 a month and there is no way I cannot afford their expenses. I expressed my concerns way before I... read full review »
Grand Canyon University
I am sending forth this complaint about GCU (Grand Canyon University) which is supposed to be a Christian college. I had been wanting to attend school at GCU since Dec. 2007. I submitted the paperwork and did my financial aid papers. I waited and waited for the financial aid department to contact me; and they never did. So I became suspscious after redoing my financial aid online.
After I had seen that GCU had my financial aid papers for months, I called them to see what was going on. A representative name Tom had gotten really rude with... read full review »

Sent over incompetent jerk of a teacher. I have played piano for 20 years. Even my 15 year old thought something was wrong. No home work, no scales, no theory.
After 5 lessons we cancelled and asked for a refund. They were extremely rude and refused to give me a refund or my security deposit. Said I signed a contract. I told them I do not like your service and they basically told me to F off.
Plus lessons cost more than 20% more than competitors.

I tried to purchase Gravity-defyer shoes online from Gadget Universe. I purchased the shoes Jan 30, 2009. My order number is W00000080000, I also paid to have them UPS on a three day shipping. After the first week I called the customer service to be told they were changing to a new computer system and the shoes should be shipping that day.
The next week no shoes and customer service says they just had inventory so the shoes are shipping today. This went on for two more weeks. The shoes I purchased were on closeout special and the total... read full review »

I though this site was fafsa.ed.gov because I had searched it and was brought to this site, and while filling out this site, I came to a section in which they asked about payment plans. I was warned earlier that FAFSA is free and that if they ask for payments that it is not right, so I'm afraid that I disclosed personal information to that site and that it may not be trustworthy. read full review »
United Talent Group
Wow, I can not believe this group, they totally ripped me off and I found out they have ripped off several other people from rip-off as well. I wish I would have read this before I started working with them. The funny thing is they used to be called 'W Talent' and now they changed their name to United Talent Group. They probably had to since they were getting such a horrible reputation. Rather than whine on my own I will quote what some others have said on this board about them as I think that will speak for itself. I have only added... read full review »

I spent one full year in the paralegal program at this college. I barely learned a thing! They expect you to read 10+ chapters a week, (sometimes that is one class!), and then you answer one question on the discussion board and do some cheesy assignment that usually consists of a couple of sentences in Word and sent as an attachment, then you get an A for that.
They gave us temporary access to Westlaw in ONE class, (a law search engine so to speak), and didn't even help us as a class on how to use it.
They don't even have... read full review »

For all I know, this could be an accredited college... but the fact that they lied to me about the need to sign a promissory note for them to give me information about my loan, as told to me by SallyMae, was just uncalled for. Also, it turned out I was due a letter explaining my loan in details before needing to sign the note.
Guys, don't let private schools manipulate you! A promissory loan with Stafford is the LAST step in enrollment. When you do it - make sure you know your college's withdrawal procedure, 'cause if you... read full review »

Students there have no life. all the student there cant go any where, and all they get to do is sit in the room and spend the hole year infront of their lap top, with poor signals, because school cant afford a better internet system. This school is cheap as hell, and the staffs are all fake. I dont even know if they graduated high school or not, cuz all their IQ's are pretty low. I started at Devry spring semester 2008. After submitting my FAFSA, I was advised by a Devry Student Finance employee of how much i would be receiving, where the funds were coming from and how many classes I was able to take. I went through this advising process at the beginning of summer and fall as well. Prior to the start of fall semester, I met with an Financial Aid adviser and was told of how much i would be receiving. The students at this school are extremely rowdy and rude. They are constantly loitering on the sidewalk and blocking pedestrian traffic. They are out there shouting, screaming, cursing, spitting and sometimes fighting all while the teachers and the security guards stand there and talk amongst themselves and do nothing.

It seems strange for the school to send out a letter to everyone saying that the new cameras were installed at the middle school inside and out to hold the children and staff accountable. Are they having problems with the staff? Are they having problems with the children that the staff couldn't get off their ass and go stop? The money could have been much better spent on books and classroom supplies for the classroom budgets that keep getting cut. I wish the schools were run by poor people that knew how to budget money the right way and... read full review »

gmat preparation
Veritasprep is apparently in the business of gmat prep but makes false claims about the qualifications of instructors. It claims that all of its instructors are 99th percentile but people who have taught for the company confirm that they had not scored in the 99th percentile. The company is allegedly run by a lawyer who should know better than to make deceptive claims. Veritas claims it supplies 14 tests but they are all sourced from companies that are selling the software themselves. Veritas marks up those tests obscenely and makes you pay an arm and a leg. Beware of tall claims by Veritasprep company. read full review »
The Salon Professional Academy
I have a complaint, it has been brought to our attention that the students don't feel they are getting the education they signed and paid for. The facility is like a high school with students running around, acting like middle school, surfing the internet instead of attending the clients. Wet towels on the floors, combs being dropped and picked right up and used on a client. I have observed this behaviour every time I go in. Clemen Chiang stated that he had conducted in depth research into options trading and said that it had amounted to a PhD paper being recognized (PhD is actually from a Degree Mill known as Preston). His eventual method is nothing but a gamble on the earnings report of a company using options. Any seasoned trader will tell you that such a method is highly speculative and there can be no predictability. Clemen also failed to mention that the volatility drops after an earnings report and this has a negative impact on the option price.
