Word of warning about booking a Thompson cruise holiday. My wife and I booked cruise for next September 2011 and Thompson wrote to us and said a number of the destinations had been changed and would not be visited in 2011. This changed the holiday completely for us and we did not want to go on it. The holiday was booked with private car transfers to and from the hotel with the Aitken Spence group. The vehicle that collected us from the airport was an old dirty minibus, being a taxi driver here in the UK it would not have even passed the licensing test. Rattling and banging was coming from the rear end. This company is trying to sell vacation certifcates to their clients which is illegal to do. Even on the certificates themselves it states that they are not to be used for sale. These companies get these certificates through fulfilment companies, which are meant as tool to create leads. The fulfilment of these certificates is only about 5% and on the average cost under $5.00.. Example if you want a certificate for a 3 day 2 night vacation it only cost $1.50. If you want a 5 night cruise for 2 it only cost $ 18.00. I hope Vacation Selects Services fulfilment company gets wind of them illegally selling these certificates to the consumer. We purchased a vacation package with VNI vacations. With the promise of higher end condo rentals at a discount members rate first of all the rooms are the exact oppostie of what we were promised they are the older run down buildings that are across the street from beach, ones that we could rent for a far less price.Give me a break 90 days for submital, 45 days then for them to contact us then an additional 4 weeks before refund..these people are running a corrupt business on the clients money.Do not make the mistake that we made. I just came from Abu Dhabi to New York by flight#EY101 on 13t Feb 2011. The flight attendent says that there is no water in cabin while supplied lunch and I mentioned that you just put water bottle in your luggage/hand bag while I went to use toilet 10 minutes befoer and refused to take lunch from her/him than in 3minutes she bring small glass of water with lunch and said take it I refused than she told if u need more water than let me know. We booked a cruise on Oceania which was going to Egypt and the Middle East. Oceania permits a cancellation, with full refund, without fee, if done more than ninety days prior to cruise. In view of the breakout of unrest and hostilities in the region, we elected to cancel. It turned out to be a mistake. At the first sight of this flat, we were astonished. It is very shabby. The wall was so thin that you could hear everything around, not to mention the wind was coming through the wall. There were only 3 small electronic heaters. We booked a trip to the Royal through Vacations to Go for 7 nights at the Royal Cancun. We had to change our trip because of a family emergency surgery - ended up changing it to 6 nights, but paid extra to change it. Long story short, we ended up flying out the evening before because of weather and were told we would have to pay a full night extra to check in after midnight.
