The holiday was booked with private car transfers to and from the hotel with the Aitken Spence group. The vehicle that collected us from the airport was an old dirty minibus, being a taxi driver here in the UK it would not have even passed the licensing test. This company is trying to sell vacation certifcates to their clients which is illegal to do. Even on the certificates themselves it states that they are not to be used for sale. These companies get these certificates through fulfilment companies, which are meant as tool to create leads. The fulfilment of these certificates is only about 5% and on the average cost under $5.00.. Example if you want a certificate for a 3 day 2 night vacation it only cost $1.50. If you want a 5 night cruise for 2 it only cost $ 18.00. I hope Vacation Selects Services fulfilment company gets wind of them illegally selling these certificates to the consumer. We purchased a vacation package with VNI vacations. I signed a "not subject to cancellation contract ", for a one week 4 bedroom grand unit to be used in the PH towers Westgate, Las Vegas, Nevada in any week for up to 35 months from the date of signing [4/8/10]. It turned out to be a mistake. At the first sight of this flat, we were astonished. It is very shabby. The wall was so thin that you could hear everything around, not to mention the wind was coming through the wall. There were only 3 small electronic heaters. The electricity supply is just enough for 2 heaters. Turning on the 3rd heater, or taking a shower (water heated by electricity), or cooking would just turn all the power off. We booked a cruise on Oceania which was going to Egypt and the Middle East. Oceania permits a cancellation, with full refund, without fee, if done more than ninety days prior to cruise. In view of the breakout of unrest and hostilities in the region, we elected to cancel. The booking agent, Key Vacation Center (aka Key Travel, Key Traveler, and Keycruises, refused to put through the cancellation unless and until they received a check for their "cancellation fee". In early 2010 I booked and paid for a self drive holiday (flexi Drive) that was supposed to occur in Cuba in September. "Kristine?" was very helpful up until all the payment was received and then I never received any further correspondence in spite of trying to reach them. We had to change our trip because of a family emergency surgery - ended up changing it to 6 nights, but paid extra to change it. Royal Resort and sister company QIT took ownership of Pelican Resort under questionable (i.e. fraudulent) circumstances in mid December, took as many maintenance fees for 2011 as they could, and then fired all the local workers.
