I am on a fixed income and so money is tight. Went on-line to see about buying a ticket to fly to Michigan to see relatives. Went to priceline.com and was quoted a price very nice price in fact. Air Jamaica did not respond to it and even refused to give us our Delta frequent flier miles for this trip by just not posting them and not responding to requests to do so. Checked into the Microtel Inn @ 1840 Corporate Blvd in Atlanta GA (Buckhead area) and encountered the following issues: - dirty room (debri on bathroom floor) - bath towels stained - stained and unsightly hallway carpet - TV remote didn't work - noise from hallway and next door (slamming doors/ crying child/slamming drawers in adjoining room). I was kind enough to bump off a flight that United Airlines had overbooked. I sat in the airport quite a few hours waiting for the next flight. I have not used my voucher yet and now we have an emergency where I need to use it. When I agreed to be bumped I did not know about the ticket until after I bumped for them or the 14 days waiting period to use this voucher. This company sends fax listings of vacation package deals. Takes your money and sends nice brochures. But when it's time to arrange a stay, they are non-responsive, they ID your incoming phone calls, and then do not answer your calls. The secretary takes messages, but no one calls us back. We lost $500.00 in purchasing a package and could never get an answer back from an employee. We even sent the Florida Buereau of Regulation and Enforcement a letter but they could do nothing about it. read full review »

AARP recomended Generation X as a site for older, handicapped people that like to travel. Generation X recommended 123 Free Travel club. I went to 123 Free Travel web site and signed up on July 1st, 2004 for $189. On July 6th I noticed the small print at the bottom of the web site that said 'restrictions apply'. I clicked on this and found out that to receive these free services I would have to go to specific places & stay in certain hotels for a set amount of time. I am writing to share with you a recently experienced a terrible problem in my last flight on your airlines. When I entered to the plane the flight attendant yelled at me because I had a big carry on bag. Then we were sitting on the plane for three hours before it took off. Caught a KLM flight from Amsterdam Schipol to Manchester yesterday. When collecting baggage, there were 8 or 9 people left with out bags on my flight alone. Probably only about 150 on the plane!!! One of those without baggage was my wife. Even worse was the fact that there were 8 or 9 unclaimed bags as well, which should presumably have been on another flight. Essentially we flew with so many unattanded bags. What a security risk!!! Problem stems from Schipol airport which has the worst checking in process I have every seen. Received phone calls and an affidavit notice from Advantage travel giving me 3 options either to forfeit all my monies paid in, Pay the member dues and reinstate TCI, or pay around $2000.00 more to join their club. My wife and I attended a vacation seminar in Cherry Hill, NJ on 11/12/10 sponsored by Travel Deals. We did not join their "vacation club", but were offered a free cruise and airfare through Reservations. I mailed in the required forms on 11/20/10 with the deposit (U.S. Money Order) for the "free" cruise to Reservations. When making a reservation for a hotel in Palm Springs, the agent talked us into something that was guaranteed to get us a $40 credit off of our reservation. Sounds good but DON'T take it. That apparently agrees to membership in their "club" that offers discount travel. IF you do get into it, call and cancel your membership and call your credit card provider and dispute that charge and any future charges. It will show up as TLG*TRVLADV on your credit card. It's like Brer Rabbit's 'tar baby', you can't hit it without getting stuck to it for life. read full review »

We purchased (under high pressure sales tactics) this vacation club Membership on Thursday Feb 3, 2011. We were told that we could not get access until Tuesday Fb 8, 2011. The information we received from the seminar stated that the cost of a 1, 2, or 3 bedroom resort condo would never exceed $399.00. This was false. I booked tickets to legoland discovery center online with my debit card via their website which actually goes through merlin entertainment in the united kingdom and right after got a bunch of charges to the travelodge website thame gb on my debit card and they cleaned out my bank account while i was on vacation so was there for stuck in chicago with four small children and no money to get home!! I went online to book a flight with wholesale flights and I was signed on as some type of member and a monthly deduction of $9.95 is billed each month. On 5 occassions I have attempted to get this charged removed from wholesale flights and I have been hung up on, given incorrect on line information on how to remove alleged membership, and downright refusal to return my phone calls after information is left. Evidently if you purchase a ticket from them you are automatically enrolled in their rip off club and you get clubbed monthly with a sneeky dues withdrawal and they hide on you when you challenge them about it. read full review »

My wife and I were scammed by Jerry Forney who sold us a 4 week membership at Grand Miramar on August 12, 2010. Our contract stipulates that not only would Grand Miramar buy out our Cabo timeshare for $24810 but that if we do not return for the next 10 years, we would be guaranteed rent per year totaling $5600. None of that has happened. We have rescinded the contract in writing and have demanded Grand Miramar buy out the timeshare or refund the $28000 we paid. Pre paid for a one night stay through Expedia.com. Upon checking in I was asked for a credit card to cover "incidentals/ damage". Since our checking account balance was low I asked the clerk twice about being either double charged for the room, or stating tha if there were any additional charges or fees I would pay them in cash. The clerk informed me both times I asked that as long as there was no damage, no charges would be accrued against my debit card. The company's people never seem to be available or to return phone calls and never gave written responses until I contacted an attorney and he sent them a letter. I've requested a return of funds; they've denied the request. Customer satisfaction is apparently not a priority. The membership is very expensive and I believe I would never get my money's worth nor save on travel expenses. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's Office to alert other consumers. My advice to others is use a local travel agent; they're free. read full review »

I booked two tickets from KHI to NYC on Qatar airways. I was unable to complete the printout of the tickets and thus did not have the booking reference. I got the same from Qatar Air Local office which was 4DMP3P. I checked the same and my booking was there. Next day I tried to print the ticket and could not find my booking against the reference I had been given and which I also confirmed the previous day. On may 13 2010 I was stranded my United Airlines at Chicago Ohara airport. My fligth to Eau claire Wisconsin was Canx do to weather, Which is not the case, It was because it was only 50% full.
