I fell for the story about perpetual rental of half of my weeks purchased, as well as the line that the resort company will buy my unit back for at least my purchase price but probably more than my purchase price after a few years because property values in Cancun go up ten percent or more per year. In September I paid Mr. Hall over $5600 for a trip to Argentina and Chile that was to start 10 November. After he got the money, I didn’t hear from him further until 5 days before the trip was to begin. He was unresponsive to e-mail and phone calls. My wife & I have been staying at that motel for over a decade, with absolutely no problems whatsoever, last stay, May 29th. When I tried to make a reservation in November, they told me Manager Lee Judson had put us on his Do Not Rent list. This list is typically reserved by the hotel/motel industry for drug dealers and prostitutes...! My wife and I are both quiet, responsible, disabled senior citizens. Paid very good money for a timeshare week with Fairfield but when it comes time to reserve your vacation week they say they are all booked up. Your points or week are gone never to be used again and you have lost your money. Customer no-service says they are sorry but there is nothing they can do. They say you are buying an opportunity to stay at a resort but it is first come first serve. This is a first class rip-off. In November 2006 I booked a hotel room in Kyoto, Japan through precisionreservations.com (who are linked to Agoda Rewards and HotelCardCharge.com) - I think they are an American company. After I gave my credit card details they held the price of the hotel on my card and made it look like the booking had been processed. Alaska used to be one of my favorite airlines, but Alaska/Horizon are my definition of the bottom of the barrel. A group of us flew from San Jose and Seattle to meet in Boise in December 22, 2006. Both flights were late; the San Jose one was over 11 hours late. The Alaska/Horizon personnel are so used to this that they don't even talk about 'scheduled' times, they say "target" times as if being on schedule is an unexpected event. It is. Cruise on Serenade of the Seas October 29, 2006 - November 11, 2006 Departing San Diego and arriving in San Juan When we arrived at Aruba on November 10 and proceeded to leave the ship to go ashore I fell on the ship's gangway. The last section of the ramp, before the stairs, did not have any traction material on it and I slipped once I stepped on it. I have worked at this hotel for nearly 2 yrs. And no real improvements have been made since I started. The owners are very cheap and hate to pay for Linen, bedspreads or cosmetic repairs. They have Mold, Spiders and Mice. This is of no real concern to them. If they can do a patch up job or hide the needed repairs they will. We just barely passed our bi-yearly hotel inspection. After the presentation we explained to them that we owned at timeshare else where and couldn't afford double the maintenance fees. Value Plus offers gift cards to local fast food joints, rebates at online malls, get a free 25 dollar gift card for signing up, and again no place to go to. We are respectable people, I'm a Marketing Manager for a web design company in Portland Oregon, my sister is a lawyer in Newport Beach California and our mother owns her own pre-school in Beaverton Oregon. I haven't seen any company in my life with such attitude!!! My children supposed to fly from London to Madrid, and with a transit there, they supposed to continue to their journey to Lagos, Nigeria. The "I'm Italy Tour" provided by Donna Franca Tours of 10/6/06. Pre Tour Arrangement to Sorrento were horrible. Arrangements at the Rome hotel to hold our bags for the few pre tour days was never arranged. That meant I and 16 others had to carry all of our own bags to the pre tour buses. We called LONDON SHUTTLE SERVICE and they advised us prior to booking that we would need 2 hours to get from Stansted to Heathrow. I booked Air Deccan flight from Bangalore to Chennai, unfortunately the amount got transferred twice from my account to Air deccan. As per the Air deccan policy it should be refunded within 14 days. I registered complain about the incident and i got the complaint number also. But still my money is not refunded. Ok.. I am going to offer a little advice to travelers.. whether you are a business traveler or the occasional traveler. 1. If you make your reservation online or over a franchise 1800 number, always call the hotel directly to ask specific questions regarding your stay. Directions (ie road construction, internet service, gyms, breakfast, pool) the 1800 and net reservations don't always know if there is a problem at the hotel. 2. I also have experienced dealing with Resorts International Marketing. After upgrading our membership for the 3rd time to a 2 bedroom suite/Master suite with a perpetual deed at the Royal Sunset, I was talked into paying the the $549 so they could rent out 3 out of our 4 weeks. Extreme high pressure sales techniques, and making fraudulent statements to complete a transaction deceived me into making a very bad investment decision. Experienced total over eleven hours long delays both on the outbound and inbound flights also experienced problems with inbound meals paid for and meals not supplied. We lost time off our holiday, missed day off work as unpaid leave and also incurred losses in taxis fares due to delays. I used my visa card to purchase a recent moose hunting trip at Fairmont's canadian location, Kenauk. I have been hunting Kenauk for 12yrs. I hunt with a group that includes my father, cousin and friends usually at least 8 people. The trip costs me $3000.00 for a 6 day hunt. I was paid in full a month before arriving for the hunt.
