Mayan Resorts / Grand Mayan / The Registry Collection
February 7, 2007
August, 2006 we stayed at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta, and after Seven hours of high pressure promises we purchased. Based on an "Equity Exchange" of our Florida timeshare, we were required to sign a contract that waived our five day cool-down or right to rescind period. According to Mexican law, this right cannot be waived. The Grand Mayan used fraudulent sales practices to keep us from canceling our contract-EVEN THOUGH WE STAYED THERE 7 MORE DAYS!!! We lost sleep and felt sick but had been told there was no way out. We were... read full review »

A copy of email to iTravel2000: Dear Mary, Public Relations at ITravel2000, I am writing to express my deep concerns with the vacation that I took last December through ITravel2000. I hope that you will take the time to review my concerns carefully, as I think that they are important and not only represent my own story but should also serve as a warning to other visitors. I arrived at the hotel Marea del Portillo on December 14th, 2006. This was my third visit to the hotel in the past couple of years and I have alway... read full review »

Fairfield Inn Calverton - Beltsville, MD
February 6, 2007
I am a resident of the Beltsville/Calverton, Maryland 20705 for the past 22 years. I regularly would go over to the Ramada Inn which is located in the Calverton Shopping Center located off of Powdermill Road and Beltsville Drive. For the past, I guess, almost 10 years now, I think, it has been changed to the Fairfield Inn. It is a nice place, and I often go there, talk with the employees I know, have coffee and watch t.v. in their lounging area. Sometimes, I get coffee or tea and take it out the door with me, when I am heading off to work... read full review »

Best Western Garden Villa Inn - Roseburg, OR
February 6, 2007
After taking off my contacts after work and picking up my glasses, I realize the frame holding the lens was cracked and one of the legs severely bent out of shape. The Housemaid Manager said that she has talked to the housemaid named Harold and he said that I've always put my glasses behind the lamp and that he did not touch them. I believe that Harold is lying due to fear of the consequences of omitting to breaking my glasses, even though it may be accidental. The facts are that both him and I agree that my glasses were in the hotel... read full review »

ILX Resorts Incorporated / Premiere Vacation Club
February 6, 2007
This is NOT just another Timeshare whine. I am not upset that my weeks aren’t worth much on the trade market, or that the maintenance fee is too high. I love the idea of timeshare, and understand the concept. When we moved to Northern Arizona, we were solicited to visit the Los Abrigados Resort and Spa in Sedona, an ILX Resorts / Premiere Vacation Club property. We listened to the pitch, went on the tour, then sat down across from a pushy salesman. Naturally, we were offered a deal that was good “right now” only. If... read full review »

Resort Property Specialists LLC
February 5, 2007
On Sep.25/06 I received a phone call from Marilyn Smith of (RPS) Resort Property Specialists LLC, stating that they had an offer of $30,000 for my Mayan Palace Resort. I told her we had traded it for Velas Vallarta & it was worth a lot more. She apparently had the prospect on the phone & asked if he would purchase that one instead & she said he agreed & she gave me the price he would pay. She wanted $4,000 for closing costs but I said I did not have it. Then she said they would accept $2,000 now & take the other $2,000... read full review »

VIP TRAVEL: DO NOT ATTEND ONE OF THE SEMINARS, YOU WILL BE SORRY. I am one of the thousands I am sure that has been scammed by VIP Travel. Just like everyone else I have read about in these complaints I too attended a seminar and was promised this free trip and free gas vouchers, I knew it was too good to be true but stupidly they had all the staff etc so I thought it must be legit. As like everyone else I paid a $100 deposit. After no dates ever being available I got fed up and demanded my $100 deposit back. Huh good luck because when you... read full review »

La Quinta Inn - San Diego, CA
February 5, 2007
I feel compelled to write this letter to you regarding an incident at the La Quinta Inn San Diego Mission Valley hotel located at 641 Camino Del Rio South San Diego, CA 92108. My husband & I stayed at that location on Saturday night, January 27, 2007. We drove there from Los Angeles and checked into the room late in the afternoon. When we left the room for dinner, I placed our camera on the seat of a chair that was provided for the desk in the room and covered it with my jacket. I also had a horrible experience! I was suckered into this by being told I was entered into a draw and that I won a vacation package. I unfortunately signed up, but was lucky enough to realize my mistake in time and asked for a refund 1 hour after signing up. I got the run around for over a week, first being told that my package would be canceled promptly, and later being told that there were absolutely NO REFUNDS. Well, I fought it and was lucky that my VISA company had a resolutions department that handled it in the end. I am still... read full review »

Delta Air Lines
February 2, 2007
My wife and I were going to Cozumel on a scuba diving trip. We were to fly from Orlando to Atlanta onto Cozumel. The first plane we were to fly on had mechanical problems, the second had mechanical problems and showed up late to Orlando. We missed our connecting flight to Cozumel. They flew us instead to Cancun telling us they would get us to Cozumel. When we landed in Cancun a Delta rep. put us in a taxi and told us he would take us to Playa. From there he would get us on the fairy boat to Cozumel. Instead we were dropped off in Playa no... read full review »

Air Canada / Aeroplan Card
February 1, 2007
I have been a Aeroplan Card holder since 1993. At that time I was using Air Canada for business trips and the point system seemed like a great way to save up for free trips. I had hoped to save enough points so that when I retired I would be able to go on a nice Holiday. It is now 2007, I am now retired. I hadn't used my Aeroplan card since 2002. I phoned the 800# to see how many points I had... they said 0. I found my 2002 statement and it showed 36,835 points. I phoned them back and they said if your card was unused for 3 year... read full review »

El Cid Vacations Club
January 25, 2007
My wife and I stopped at Cozumel during a cruise. Our excursion was cancelled due to the weather so we wandered around for a bit before we ended up talking to Justin at El Cid about an RCI membership. We were tempted with a free, all inclusive day pass just for listening and "keeping an open mind" about RCI. The presentation was supposed to last only an hour. After an hour and one-half we we're totally confused about the whole program. Then the pressure began. We had several people coming and going from our table and we... read full review »

I am very unhappy about writing this letter to you. You may not be aware that the menu at the Magnolia Grill in the hotel has a section that denigrates Southerners and states that they eat and go to the bathroom in the same hour. My family has been a member of this organization since 1983 and never had a problem up until this last summer. We have always enjoyed our time here but, this last summer there was an altercation that rescinded our membership and i feel that we were victimized by not only acting "security" but also by management. I am interested to know if anyone can help in this matter as a by-law states that because of this action they now own about 10,000 dollars of our property.
