I bought a power miter saw from them and the guard was defective. The saw sat on a table and one day when I went to use it the guard just broke off into the saw blade. Now they want over $20 just to ship this $16 part to Alaska. I will continue to use the saw without the guard and if I ever cut myself using it I will own some of Sears. They charged my friend $2400 for a 100, 000 warranty. While I bought mine from another dealership (same car) and they only charged $1650 for a 125, 000 mile warranty... for the same car. That is sad that they would actually pass that much of a markup for a lesser product. The other dealership made profit, but they didn't way overcharge their customers. If they really believed in customer service, they would charge everyone the same price, not wait to see if unknowing people would pay so much more. I have a GE Profile side-by-side Arctica PSS27SGNABS refrigerator/freezer. For a few weeks the refrigerator seemed to keep things too cold and the freezer wouldn't stay at 0 F (tended toward 6 F). Bought a new 2008 snowmobile from yamaha and from the start it was way too load and they wouldn't do anything about it unless I payed to have them tear the engine down while still on warranty. The company has staffing to answer emergency calls on evening and weekends, but don't call for technical service or an accounting issue. The company states customer service is available 24/7 in their advertising and when customers talk to telephone reps. But what the company does not tell you is that technical services are available on m-f from 9-5. Called around to appliance repair places looking for a part for my oven. There were two potential problems, thermostat or ignitor. Brinkerhoff's were the only appliance company in the area that claimed they had both parts in stock. I verified the part numbers to be sure.
