Bought a 5 yr. prot. plan for new couch in Feb. 2005. Stitching has come undone in cushion on which your back rests. Placed claim today 2-4-09 and they denied it, stitching is not covered. Went to Jerome's for help, they basically told me I was SOL, despite me acting like a customer first with a 'sales guy' and when I questioned him on if the warranty covered stitching, he asked a co-worker who said it was. Plain and simple!...bought couches from Ashley furniture(fingers affiliated company) for 0% interest for a year. Made payments loyaly and found out the hard way.When I looked at my credit report I founded out that they had been returning my checks(paid bill) cause I supposibly had one to many #'s on my billing account. This had been going on since july 11, 2008. till now feb 04 2009. I am having the same problem with TECO/TAMPA ELECTRIC.they are demanding a deposit and have sent us a letter of disconnect if we fail to pay the deposit.they are not willing to do anything and we've been with tampa electric for 18 years. times are hard. we may pay late, but we pay and its because of the paying late that they are demanding deposits.I want to know if this is legal? can they demand for something that already is? can they terminate out electricity even though we pay out electric bill? read full review »

2 years ago Washington Gas Energy advertised they were 15% lower than BGE. So of course I switched my energy service over to their company. What a bait and switch! I didn't realize when I renewed my contract with them last summer, that in truth they are now over 30% higher than BGE. I bought an Emerson brand microwave (model #MW8119SB) in June of 2008. It has worked perfectly until a few nights ago when my husband was heating a baby bottle full of water. He heard a loud pop sound...and then nothing. No time on the clock, no power. He tried moving it to another outlet, thinking it may be the outlet, or GFI or something else. Still nothing. Our WO-227SS oven spontaneously burst into flames a couple of weeks ago. This was not due to any power surge or electrical wiring problem in our home. It appears that one or both capacitors exploded. Because I wanted to get compensation from DCS for a 5 yr young $4K oven for which all of the electronic components are now fried, I attempted to get guidance from FP customer service on what service contractor to call to access the damage. I have been a Sears customer for over 30 years. Their service repair departement has been out twice to fix my dryer and the dryer is still not repaired. The first technician came out on 1-23-09 and was over two hours late. He said he fixed the dryer. It worked one cycle and stopped. I had to call again on 1-24-09 and I was scheduled again on 2-2-09. Again, they came out and said the dryer was fixed. It lasted one cycle and broke again. I asked for a refund and was denied. After 3 attempts to get a bid from this company I have had it with them. I scheduled back to back job walks with Home Depot, Sears and American Home Improvement, and only Home Depot and Sears actually showed up. When I called to complain, the AHI rep offered a 10% discount if I would reconsider having them come another day. I foolishly took the bait, rescheduled for today and stood up yet again. April 2006 I bought a Sterns & Foster Berkley (model) mattress at Mattress Firm (store). The first year was ok. but it began to sag in the middle and it is less than 2 years old. you can't lie flat. anymore. It get worse each month. I filled out the paperwork from Mattress Firm and mailed it in. I will call Sterns & Foster tomorrow. The piping on the edge of the mattress is fine on one side. Beware of the warranty issues on the mattress. After 2 years and 10 months of having the bed we would rather sleep on the floor then in our bed. It sagges in the middle and very uncomfortable to sleep on. We contacted them and did a warranty claim and they told us the bed must sag more then 1 1/2 before they will do anything. In there letter they say "We do not warranty comfort" That is why people buy these beds and it does not hold up. I would recommend that you stay away from these beds. read full review »

G.E. service warranty said that my contract had expired back on 7/31/08, but my contract shows to expire 11/30/09. I had purchased the orginal contract, then purchased an extension to the same contract due to the G.E. refrigator had multiple problems from day one. They made up a story that I had over payed my contract & they refunded my overpaidment, which voided the 11/30/09 date. Then they said that someone had called & asked for a refund. Which I replied, why would I do that knowing that the appliance was a lemon. This goes on & on & I was treated rudely & they had no interest in hearing my side. DO NOT BUY G.E. Yearly Contract Fee was paid 6/08 in the amount of $178.82. Service call was requested 10/08 at my request. A neighbor let the technician in and was provided with a check made out to Comfort Control, the amount for the service call, if any, needed to be filled in. The technician requested payment of $178.82 and the check was issued. Comfort Control has admitted that this fee should not have been collected since the contract was in effect. Through his staff, the manager, Loius has promised refund of the overcharge of $178.82. I have owned 2 beachpools. The first was wonderful encouraging me to get another one at my second home. This was a disaster from day one. John took over from his father (family business) and I would have expected the same brilliant product, however his outlook was quantity not quality - I paid double (over 60, 000 cash up front) and ended up with a rush job. Nick seems like a nice guy but when its time to get paid you can never get a hold of him, Im not the only one he owes, we cleaned up mistakes for him and he has the nerve to complain about our work and not even pay us, I think he makes it up so he can excuse himself from paying people that work for him, I brought 3 guys to work for Nick two guys even stayed extra late to help him get some work that was done incorrectly straightened out and we never saw a dime he owes my company over a grand. My granddaughter views and reads this sight all the time. I have not really worried about it before. I was reading over her shoulder the other day and was shocked to see the language that was being used. We bought a Serta mattress in 1998 and within two years it sagged on both sides with a mountain between us. Looking at it now it looks like we have a mountain for a bed. We have turned this mattress weekly for 11 years but we're getting too old to deal with this King mattress. I know it is 11 years but it has been like this for the past 9 years. I wrote to Serta but they totally ignored me. Needless to say we are in the market for a new mattress. Company is horrible. This summer they added a $20 fee for no reason. I got charged for a disconnect and reconnect service...but check this out, I NEVER had a disruption of service...ever. I called to question this and never received an answer. Every month my bill is going up about $50, I live in a 2 bed 980 sq ft apartment. How does this equal a $300 bill. I had an extended warranty on my GE Profile Over the Range Microwave Oven. When My Microwave was not working properly I called GE for service. They sent 2 technician from Dial Appliance to check the Microwave, and they discovered that Magnetron Tube on the Microwave was defective and they ordered new one. I had windows intalled through Weather Gard in 2000. I have had seal failure 3x and alot of problems with my Garden Window. I have been experiencing Black Mold in the Garden Window. We purchased a LG refrigerator (French Door white 22.6 cf) on a Sunday and they took away our old refrigerator and brought the new one on Tuesday. The new one DID NOT COOL!
