In our neighborhood of older homes it is common for tree roots to work their way into the sewer line. Our house has the older terra cotta sewer line and we usually need the line to be snaked every 1-2 years. Sometimes we do it ourselves, sometimes call in a service and they usually charge around $100. We called Bonney Plumbing this year and the guy tells its $150 to snake out the line. Slomin's Shield offers a free alarm system installation. The problem is you better not move within 5 years! We contacted a sales person for Slomin's a little over a year ago to come out to our home to go over the product and the contract with us. Michael Hoyle was who came out to talk to us. I purchased a Maytag gas stove model #MGR5751BDS in July of 2008. This product failed right out of the box. First the oven clock stopped working, then the burners had trouble, then the oven started cooking at random temperatures, finally it failed completely. I bought a stand alone cabinet from IKEA, like 95% of your their products required assembly. I bought it home and assembled it perfectly, but it turn out to be too big for my kitchen. Our 5 year old Kenmore Elite Electric Range (model 790.9911) caught fire last night and we were very fortunate to have been in the room. I turned on one burner to heat water and turned the (convection) oven on to warm some food. Within 2 minutes, we heard an electrical crackling buzzing sound instead of the convection oven fan noise. We paid rock Tops on 11/18/08 $1, 600.00 50% for new counters. On 11/25/08 they cme out and measured and said we need to pay balance in full if we want our granite installed on 12/15/08. We paid them in full for a total of $3, 200.00. On 12/3/08 we received a call from manager stating that the 15th install date will not work but he guarantees 12/23/08 install. It's a pure shame what Hannity homes Kevin and steve did to you two, false advertising is not allowed. Just get the back issues of the Papermint Magazine and Family times, they advertise there that your house would be complete from 90 from the pouring of the slag. You should at least go after the interest during that time you were not in your home. If a company is in the building of homes they should know all the times and required variances. I purchased an easy warm floor in August of 2008 and authorized the purchase via a telephone call, since there was no way to order the form online. Our community hired Palm Pools to provide pool service and lifeguards for the 2008 pool season. On the first day the pool was meant to be open, no lifeguard showed up. We notified the company and it took two days to get us a new guard. The replacement guard was consistently 2-3 hours late to open the pool and failed to clean it. We demanded a new guard and received one who smoked at the pool while on duty and talked on the phone. I told them they had to install by 8am they said no problem, when they didn't show up I find out they open at 10am. I work nights so I wanted an early install so I can find a baby sitter and get some sleep. When I called to complain my sales man wanted to fight me and called me a lair. After all this was fixed ( I had to change the install date) they did a crappy job. I had to call them to fix it once and it is messed up again. We ordered furniture in September and were told 6-8 weeks. We did not get a call about the furniture being ready for pick-up until 16 weeks and when we tried to speak with a manager about our previous calls to check on the furniture we never received any return calls. We then did not have furniture over the holidays and had company to entertain. We then asked to have it delivered instead of pick up due to the circumstances and we were charged an additional $215.00 for the delivery. We already paid over $3000.00 for the furniture. I placed an order from Lowes.com on Dec. 13th for a over-range microwave oven to be delivered for in store pick-up. The web site said it would on or before Dec. 29. Purified Restoration came as a preferred service provider with our insurance company. They came in and did mold abatement, which has to be done a certain way according to Fed law. Bought a Kenmore Miser 9 water heater in August of 2007, 9 year warranty on the water heater. The 1 year parts and labor warranty has expired but the other 8 years, parts are still free according to the warranty agreement on the back of the unit manual. Try to collect on that. NPower has a split price for gas consumption, now at 6.504 p per kWh for the first 4572Kwh/year and 2.098 for the following. Another Kenmore oven heating element fire. We have the Kenmore 4783 wall oven, installed about a year ago, the oven is close to two years old. Same story - when heating at 350 degrees, the heater element failed and caught fire. My wife was in the kitchen and turned off the oven right away and the flames went out after a few seconds. Having read all of the complaints on this site, I worry about simply repairing and replacing the heating element as it seems to recur for some people. Not sure if this is related, but the oven has always cooked about 15 degrees low. For something that requires 350, we've had to cook at 365. read full review »

Bought two power recliner loveseats that were supposed to be the best in the store. ONE month after delivery, the seams were splitting, the cushions were sagging, the two halves of the loveseats no longer lined up. Called Customer Service, they sent an inspector. I got fired at a job site in Oxnard, CA for following orders passed on to me by my co-worker from my Account Manager. West Coast Metal Buildings Inc. does not stand behind their product. They built 5 carports for us 1 year ago and after the first snow, one of them came crashing down on top of the 2 trucks that were parked underneath Causing damage to both trucks as well as complete destruction of the carport that cost $3200. Last August, we ordered a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator at a price of around $2000. We live in a rural community and had to pick it up in a nearby community ourselves.
