IKEA Aneboda bed frame
In September 08 I bought an Aneboda bed frame and Lilliker Bed slats from Ikea. I didn't put it together until Jan. 09. I slept on this new bed one night and the next day I sat on the edge to put on my socks and the slats slipped off of the metal railing inside the bed frame.

Expo Furniture
Purchased a sleeper sofa in March 2008 and by the summer it was broken. It was only used as a bed three times over all those months. The sofa bed leaned back too far according my my guest and then all of a sudden would not push into a couch, thus leaving me with a bed 24/7 and no where to sit. I called Expo they said they would fix it, they sent the same sales man who sold it to me to look at it, and he took pictures and said I jumped on it. Vinotemp wine cooler
Vinotemp's customer service is absolutely terrible! I would not recommend purchasing from them directly.
I ordered a brand new wine cooler ($1800) on 12/1/08 to avoid the hassles that might come from a used/refurbished unit. What a disaster.

Rain Soft Water Softener etc.
A month ago we bought a water softener and water filtration system. Our water is bad and we felt we needed to do this.
We must be naive, because when someone gives us a price we accept that this is the cost. I have since found out that

DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR. His work is shoddy. He would never return calls. He is unprofessional. He lacks skill and knowledge. My wife and I hired him on a referral. We were very disappointed. We have hired a new contractor to repair/fix the jobs he did for us. He is very young and inexperienced and clearly does not have enough knowledge to be working on his own. INTEX/ Raised Airbed
My boyfriend and I have bought 6 Raised Airbeds from Intex( thru Shopko) every single mattress has gotten a leak at the seam. We called Intex and were told they do not do refunds or exchanges on thier products. The box that the mattress came in says " do not return to store call Intex for any problems".

Door to Door sales tatics include "promising" to lower energy costs at least 30% over your current bills. The salesperson will ask to see your current utility bills and then claim that by signing with them you can save up to 30% of your current billings. honeywell warm mist humidifier with removable tank
i brought a honeywell humidifier last year it had 2years warranty, , when i used it this winter i see a leak from the bottom of the unit, , i called the customer service and was asked to send the unit to them and that it would take 6 weeks to process, , i spend 10$+ in postage to send the item on nov 5 2008. Green Mountain Energy
Worst customer service EVER! They are just a shadow company and at the mercy of Reliant to do ANYTHING. I protested the horrendous billing post-Ike and received empty promises from Green Mountain. Suddenly I am in collections and have had NO communications from GM. I am going back to RELIANT who can actually DO something as simple as checking my meter for errors. I bought the iDrive because it offered a quick and simple approach to mounting a garage door opener. The design seemed ingenious...and it really is...but their implementation of the motor/gearbox is less than robust.

I too believed Art Krull and HSN that the Ultrex brand was quality merchandise. I bought numerous cookware sets because of the warranty. Needless to say, they are all flaking off black coating. Insane how bad this company is. I bought a couch and leather ottoman from Boston Interiors(no problem with the furniture) but I bought the warranty for the ottoman b/c I figured that things happen to leather and people would have their feet on it all the time. Three months after buying it, I went to clean the ottoman with the stainsafe cleaner...which went fine. But, when I went to condition it there was a white residue left on the dark brown leather. I purchase a new mattess due to a back injury in 2000 and paid 1300 for the mattess which was supposted to be a top of the line Sealy mattress. Ashley Furniture Homestore
Seven days after purchasing over $2500.00 worth of furniture, this company advertised a sale on the items I bought, but refused to give me the sale price because the furniture had already been delivered two days before the sale began. The salesperson told me that the items I purchased were at their lowest price! Imagine my frustration when I saw the ad.
Another problem is that each Ashley store is individually owned so the corporate office reports they have no control over a specific stores policies!
I will never go to nor recommend Ashley Furniture again because something I buy today may go on sale tomorrow! read full review »
