Part 1 I may not have had it as bad as some. I purchased a 6 piece bedroom set from Leons in hamilton on January 24. I received the items by delivery from their burlington store. My 1/2 night tables, the wooden leg split in two had been stapled to hold in place. Next the dresser was warped in the back so installing the mirror was impossible becuase the bolts would not make the distance to the threads. And finally the box that our bed frame had come in was open apon delivery with no hardware to be found. So now we lay on the floor awaiting for a phone call. read full review »

Bought this Sealy Posterpedic Organic Cotton Queen Mattress on August 2009 at Sears for 50% off and still paid over $1000 with taxes and delivery. I purchased a bookshelf wall unit last May and have spent 8 months trying to get "due" compensation. The unit was damaged with several holes and scratches and had a broken wheel that allowed the unit to fall over damaging art pieces, leather sofa and my for-head. I ordered the NFL bed set from Rooms to Go, Dec 2010 and was told the Logo had to come separate and would be shipped to me via UPS in a few days. Purchased a LG Washer on December 13, 2009. In February 2010, Sears sent a technician to replace a recall part and broke our washer. They came back three times to replace parts and could never fix the unit. Finally after 7 weeks they the local store agreed to replace the unit, assuring me that the new unit would have full 1 year warranty from replacement date of 05/04/2010. This is the most dishonest and horrible company to deal with. They came door to door selling an alarm system. The sales person promised a free move cause I stated right up front that we would be moving and she stated that the move would be free and we would also be given 2 key fobs when the alarm was installed. I have been a customer of KAU since 1992. They bill me for electric and water together. My average bill is about $300/mo. A couple of months ago they (KUA) sent me a letter explaining how they had decided, after 18 years of uninterrupted services, I should give them an extra $500 on top of my bill so they can hold on to it just in case "I decide to run away without paying my last bill." Kirk Mcoy told me he would by out the contrct from my old alarm system if we hired him for our new one. I paid out $927.00 to my old alarm company and Gave the bill to Kirk, This was in sept.'09. He has never paid me back, and won't even answer when I call him or his office. Only Licensed Contractors.com a is a contractor referral service. I am a general contractor in California. They allowed me to sign up with them, and I started to get calls from customers. Everything was going fine for a few weeks. I then received a letter from Only Licensed Contractors stating that my Better Business Bureau report had a lot of negative information on it and they could no longer do business with me. On March 5th, 2010 they came out to our business to repair a broken belt and pulley on our heat/air unit. On June 8th, we noticed a loud vibration coming from the unit. We called Malone out again. The technician, unaware of the previous repair, told us that we had the wrong belt in the unit and that was why it was vibrating. They charged us $152 to retension the improper belt that they had installed 3 months earlier! We unhappily paid this bill but then began an attempt to recoup our losses. This company sucks!!! The Elk Grove, CA office said it would take anywhere from 1 to 10 days to come out to fill my empty propane tank! Unacceptable in my book - how would they like to be without heat for 10 days in the middle of winter. Now I'm fighting a $84.00 service charge. I entered into a contract with Mad Designs on August 24, 2010 to replace my front steel door and new windows for my bedrooms. It is now five months later, they still have not given me a proper fitting door. The door they gave me has a 1/4 inch gap where it is not the right size. In my opinion - absolutely most horrible business experience I've ever had all around - can't even begin to describe! Just some advice based on my opinion after my experience: Check the background, complaints, and reputation of contractors very carefully. Don't rely on prior customers, friends or realtors to refer someone in construction until you are absolutely certain they are not getting any money in return.
