The Fireplace People on Rt. 73 in West Berlin, NJ did not install our fireplace properly. As a result, an ember fell through an opening in the firebox and ignited a wood support starting a fire that caused so much damage we were out of our house for 8 months. Had the metal strip required by the manufacturer been installed, the ember would have burned itself out without incident. This is the worst screen door I have ever purchased. I have a screen which rolls up and becomes an all glass door. The first door's screen split along the bottom and when I called for a replacement, the company told me that I would get a replacement screen but I had to install it myself and it was was really easy. We had Fulgenzi Plumbing install a dishwasher and fix a leak under the sink. This was quoted at $250. Anyway, when we received the bill it was $830 (less a discount of 30%?). I inquired about the other work done and had no idea there were other problems that needed to be repaired. I sent a mattress for sewing of small tear on the top joining corner last year (May 2010) when the mattress came back, the bottom sheet was different and the mattress had lumps in it. We purchased a Rohl faucet with a lifetime warrenty with a cost well over $700. It has been a piece of junk with constant problems. The water flow is often blocked during operations with loud squeels low to no flow. My Kenmore Trio refrigerator was purchased either 2005 or 2006, about 2 months after purchasing, the ice make quit, no biggie as long as the rest works. Yesterday 5-15-11, the refrigerator quit cooling and the freezer is steady at 3 degrees although it was always set to 0. This is the last Kenmore I buy. I purchased a replacement washing machine about 8 years ago, after 3 years it crapped out, so I purchased a Bosch. Overall it's been a very bad experience with US Appliance. They delivered a damaged dishwasher and I was told I wouldn't be compensated in any form for having to take another day off of work to be home when the replacement was delivered. But when I called them back to let them know the fridge was too big to fit they told me I'd have to pay a 10% restocking fee, plus shipping to and from the warehouse.
