I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I felt stupid later that I did not check the washers before I called Pat the Plumber. There was a $60.00 charge to come to my home. I agreed to that. The service man came in and reached under the sink with his hand. He did not even need a tool. It took one minute at the most. He tightened the washer with his hand and then said the charge was $176.00 Travel fee and minimum one hour labor charge. He would not leave without me paying him. I live alone. Do not use factory Direct SPA Covers. I bought a cover from them in 2007 with a 10 year warranty and they will not return my emails. The cover has bubbled and is no longer the color gray, now it is brown and staining the deck and steps. I sent them pictures of the damage and have gotten no response. They send a plumber to fix a simple toilet leak and two weeks later, it was still broken...they couldn't find the part. I purchased furniture at this store only because i was told if i paid that price i would receive a $500 gift certificate. I made the purchase got the gift certificate and did what i was supposed to do. I purchased a set of Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryers in 2007 and I just spent 400.00 replacing the motor and all its components because from the factory it was defective. I have owned a GE Profile French door refridgerator for under 3 yearsand the circuit board fried on it yesterday for no apparent reason. This is just the topping on the cake as far as performance goes for this machine. Bishop's Aluminum built a screened room onto my home. The roof leaked from the seams like a waterfall coming down inside the room every time it rained . I am a female senior citizen and was told to get on the roof and put some caulking on the seams. What they don't tell you is that the financing is provided by CitiFinancial whose agreement states that they can change the terms upon 3 months notice. Certified Security, based in Jacksonville, Florida, has an automatic renewal clause hidden in fine print in a hard-to-read contract. The salesperson will not point this out. The company does not have to tell you first that they are automatically renewing the contract - they just begin billing you again out of the blue. The consumer has no choice in the matter, even if you write them and give them a 60-day notice, you're still hooked.
