I was to stay at this hotel for SXSW Interactive conference for over a week. My first full day in town, the hotel made someone ( I have still not been told who), keys to my room and I was robbed of pretty much everything except my clothing and toiletries. Mondiale Assistance offer him to travel in Business to be more comfortable but didn't want to upgrade my mother who also paid for the insurance. The night of the stay my family contracted bed bugs. I am aware this is a difficult accusation to prove. We had a business trip to S.C. where I had stayed at the Red Roof Inn on prior trips. It was old, musty and dirty. BUT...they now advertised a NEW, UPDATED Superior King Room. It was billed to be remodeled, larger and complete with microwave, refrig and coffee maker. Okay, newly revamped room, that will work. WHAT A JOKE! It was the very same old, musty and dirty room with no micro or refrig because they said "oh, we don't have those here". Basically we booked a room for 3 nights in Scottsdale. Thinking we were getting a resort, what we got was lied to and ripped off. This resort apparently has a normal pattern of booking the stay, and putting guests in another hotel with claims of being full. If the Scottsdale Cottonwoods Resort should ever do this to you, take them up on it and enjoy your visit somewhere else. Our flight with Sunwing departed Winnipeg to Huatulco Mexico 1st March 2011 @ 6 a.m. Arrived 3 hours prior as advised. We were loaded and blasting into the sky in no time. I stayed at this all-inclusive resort alone because my boyfriend could not come due to his fathers health and his mothers state.
