I recently travelled on the greyhound neon bus with my husband and baby. We boarded in Manhattan with three pieces; by the time we got to the US/ Canada border, there was only two pieces. Please warn all consumers not to do business with 1800Hotels. I booked a room with them at Planet Hollywood only to arrive and find that although I had been charged for the reservation, the reservation was no good. I had to rebook once I arrived at Planet Hollywood and was in essence charged twice. Not only that, but then 1800Hotels put an additional charge on my credit card for a "Foreign Transaction" fee. Sorry, I don't recall the name of the person who called me. They claimed to be working to recover monies paid out to Florida timeshare scam artists and, for 25% of what they would recover, they would work to recover the funds I'd paid out. I told the gentleman who called me that I had no money to pay him. He responded with "We're not a non-profit organization". I made a reservation for my 7 year old daughter's birthday party 5 days in advance. We got to the hotel at 2 PM, and the desk clerk couldn't find our reservation. He finally did and they booked us for the following day. We had a first floor reservation reserved so that the kids would have great access to the pool. They didn't have any clean rooms yet. and we ended up sitting with all of our party food in the dining room for 2 hours before I decided to finally take my business elsewhere. Nine months ago we foolishly paid 5 Star Resorts to sell our timeshare. We followed up with Jerry Lewis on several occasions via email.
