I went to the Costco fontana store to buy a new car battery for my sons Honda Accord. I even brought with me his old battery so I would not incur a "core" charge. When I went to the check-out line I was confused to learn that the clerk automatically added a 9.00 core charge to the cost of the battery- I was then charged 8.75 % sales tax on the total amount. I recieved a letter from SPD stating my vehicle factory warranty expired for my BMW. It did. Upon calling them they offered me a 5yr/100, 000 mile warrant for 2800. I felt this was a pretty good deal. They wanted me to lock in and were pushing hard. I said I needed to think about it. I have a major problem with My Maruti Swift 2006 model with the rats entering inside the cabin of my car. It has spoiled the interiors by biting the floor mats, seats and other fabric. Besides this it leaves a bad smell with its urination and leaving other waste insde the car. I purchased a starter from O'Reillys. Installed the starter on the week-end; when I completed the installation, it started one time then the drive on the starter went out. I brought the vehicle to a near by shop and they installed a second starter which lasted for two starts with the same outcome as the first. On July 2, 2009 I purchased a 97 Oldsmobile Achieva that seemed to be fine in the beginning. Autoquest was selling a 2007 Porsche Targa via Ebay. The AutoCheck report with the car showed no accidents. However, I purchased a CarFax for the car and it showed there had been an accident and airbag deployment in 2007 which AutoCheck did not report. I had been told by others to always do a CarFax because autocheck was incomplete. I contacted the car dealership and they said "oh, this isn't good". They seemed surprised but my belief is they could tell the cart had been repaired. In future, i would recommend everyone get both carfax and Autocheck and not trust just autocheck or a car dealer that only uses autocheck. read full review »

WARNING - rip off merchants - asking $775 for a $20 job! My husband and I were referred to this Shell by AAA. We were several blocks away, the car was making a SCREECHING, metal horrible noise (all of the sudden), but we were able to nurse it to the station. Shell put the car on the lift and did a diagnostic. The estimate was $775! I have no complaints of any dealer. My complaint is as follows: I own a 2007 chevy uplander and am dissappointed with the bowtie emblem on the front and back. Water gets between the plastic and metal part of the emblem and stains the emblem. I had the front replaced once and it has done it again, but this time the plastic part of the emblem fell off. So this is my experience with Evans Halshaw Ford Main dealer in Preston. I bought a second hand Ford Mondeo in May 2009. When I picked it up I noticed that the stereo was faulty and it was eating CDs. I rang the salesman and he said to fetch it in and they would swap it on the spot for a replacement. I paid sticker for a Pius III plus a leather upgrade promised to be identical to or better than factory leather in every respect except without lumbar adjustment. Order a cold air intake from Autoanything on March 8th and I am still waiting for it to be shipped out! I emailed costumer service to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with my order and now they say it could take up to two business days after the estimated shipping date to get my tracking information.
