Whilst Traveling in Australia my partner and I hired a hire car on the 10th November 2009 through the internet company holidaycars.com. Holidaycars uses cars from larger companies such as Thrifty, Avis etc depending on availability. In our case Holiday cars had booked us with Thrifty. Kid's Auto damaged an axle by grinding it down as a quick fix which resulted in a triple cost to repair at a reputable dealership. After 3 attempts by Kid's Auto to repair a leak in a left axle, I considered trading in the vehicle then changed my mind. Kid's Auto supposed repaired the vehicle by grinding down the original part with the attitude that it did not matter because I would no longer be the owner of the vehicle after trade-in. I parked my vehicle at about 4:30pm 03/23/2010 in a lot that appeared to be a public lot. (Right by the Court House in downtown Fort Lauderdale) There was no signs in regards for payment for parking in the lot, any meters, or notices of any hours or operation or any attendant on premises. We have installed a CONE company lift in our apartment. After one year warranty period was over in Nov 2009. We delayed giving the annual maintenance contract. I just finsihed canceling stop repair bills/MEPCO, it is a scam, the long list of things they cover isn't enough for what you are going to pay. How are you suppose to know what is not covered unless you take your car to a garage or dealership. Firstly the company supplied me with a car with 5 faulty bulbs, which resulted in the police pulling us over. He later admitted to have known the lights were faulty! The car check was done on the side of a busy intersection with the side lights on so the full light problem wasn't seen and a full inspection of the car was very difficult. I rented a van in June 2009 and an additional 1000.00 GBP was charged to my visa as security. I returned the van without a scratch on it and with a full tank of fuel. I want to joi a class action against Chase Auto! A year ago they repoed our SUV. To date the SUV is still in our name and the TAG is missing! I bought a 1996 Subaru Outback Legacy on Feb. 20th, 2010 and I got to drive it a total of 3 days, before it started overheating. I called the gentleman back at the auto place and told him what happened. All he said was that the mechanic that looked at the car had replaced the water pump, timing chain and thermostat. They told me when I bought the car that they would fix the car or take the car back and give me my money back if anything went wrong within the first 30 days of owning the car. I recently worked for this company, though not for long as they are highly unethical. The owner had run out of all but 10w30 oil, so that is what was going into all the cars, including a new Camry that required 0w20 or 5w20 (It takes either)but marking the reminder stickers as the correct oil.
