I live in tidwater Virginia. Merchants tire is a rip off no matter what you do. They have a chart they follow for the mark up on parts and it is ridiculous. A friend of mine retained a copy of it. Example: if they buy a part for $15.00 they are told to sell it for $57.00 a 73% markup! If they buy a part for $25.00 again a 73% markup and to sell it for $90.00. This is how all of it is done. We took our car (FIAT Stilo) to FIAT dealer in Heartfelf in Pretoria (South Africa) for 120000km service last year November. My wife and I dealt with Sames-Crow Ford on a 2010 Ford F-150. We told them that we wanted to purchase the truck as co-borrowers. This was because we rely on each others income to pay our debts. My 2010 Malibu hessitates when shifting into 3rd gear at about 20 mph. It throws you forward in your seat. It seems like it is trying to run in too low of a gear. I thought I was buying an American car and was horrified to see the transmission (6-speed) was made in Korea. The transmission is a piece of junk. It shifts very rough, lunges and jerks you around. I had taken my nissan versa to nissan for airport road for my service. It was my first time in that service centre .The odometer was 24000km. I rented a car @ Vancouver airport and no agent was available to review the car for damages before I left with it. When I returned it on November 23, 2009, 3 agents went over it and one agent found a small acratch UNDER the rear bumper that no one else could even find. Later I received a letter charging me $175.20 for damages. I left 3 phone messages with the office that were not returned. The only communication was threatening collection letters.
