McGinnis Cadillac/Mitsubishi - Houston, TX
January 9, 2007
Let me tell you a little about my experience with McGinnis Cadillac in Houston, TX. During an online search for a pre-owned vehicle, I came across what I thought to be a pretty good bargain from McGinnis Cadillac. I called the number listed, and spoke to a sales person. He gave me some information about the car, and I went to look at it during my lunch break. The first time I got there, the car was blocked in by about 5 other cars, so a test drive was out of the question. I had to come back a second time to test drive it. After... read full review »

Enterprise
January 8, 2007
Car Renter Beware! Recently I needed to rent a vehicle while mine was in the shop for repairs. It was a short term rental, only 3 days. When I picked up the vehicle they tried to talk me into taking their bumper to bumper car insurance for $12.00 plus some change per day and I informed them that I had excellent insurance and would not need the extra coverage. I walked around the vehicle with the agent and looked for any obvious damage before signing for the vehicle. I noticed small chip in paint but figured this was normal wear and tear... read full review »

Platinum Warranty Corporation
January 8, 2007
I purchased an extended auto repair warranty from Platinum Warranty Corp. December 30,2004 at a cost of $2049.00. My first attempt to use the service was 01-05-2007. Phone# on my warranty card was invalid. I looked on the website and realized I was in trouble from the postings of victims of this corporation. I live in Arizona and have contacted our Attorney General but not enough time has passed for an answer. An interesting bit of information I found, was that the Ohio Attorney General, Jim Petro filed suit in Cuyahoga County... read full review »

Drive Financial Services
January 5, 2007
I bought a vehicle in July of 2004 from Drive Financial. I can proudly say that I have not had a late payment that was my fault. For example, I had so many problems with these people stating they had not received payments or taking forever in a day to cash a personal check. This lead me to switch to auto pay. I asked to have my payment deducted on the 15th of every month. Now this sounds PRETTY simple, huh? WRONG! The 15th approaches and the money was still not withdrawn for my account. I called Drive to inform them that the payment wa... read full review »

Coggin Honda Ft Pierce
January 4, 2007
My girlfriend took her car (2001 civic) to these idiots hoping to have it repaired and Dan cicetti the thieving service guy told her the car was junk and that she should call some junkyards to see what they would offer her. They charged her 100.00 to tell her that the car needed a rebuilt motor and would not tell her exactly why and they wanted to charge 4200.00 for the service. She had the car towed to a private mechanic and it tuned out to be the fuel pump and the repair was less than $300.00. What a bunch of scam artists, and then they wonder why people don't trust them. read full review »

January 4, 2007
I bought my 2002 Chevy Tahoe brand new in may of 2002. My transmission has gone out FOUR times since then, and i only have 87,000 miles on it right now. The transmission went out at 10,000 miles, 33,000 miles, 66,000 miles, and 85,000 miles. I have 3 children, and 3 out of the 4 times, my younger sons have been with me. The last time it quit, we were just about hit by another car. The 2nd time the tranny went out, GM gave me an extended warranty for it thru 100,000 miles. This last time it went out, at 85,000 miles, I asked for SOME SORT of... read full review »

Reliable Chevrolet
January 2, 2007
My wife and I visited reliable Chevrolet for a test-drive. A sales clerk, Adriana, asked for our phone number and I told her I did not want to give it to them, as I did not want to receive sales calls. She then said her manager told her that she could not take us on a test drive without the number as they needed them for "safety". I said I would give it only if they guaranteed I would receive no sales calls, which she guaranteed. I then gave her both my cell number and my wife’s. Marin Bikes
January 2, 2007
Purchased Marin bicycle from Big Wheel bikes in Bethesda MD. {$600} within one day of riding around rear wheel weird and very noisy. Found out that only about 60 percent of the spokes were actually 'truing' the wheel; all the other spokes were just barely tightened. Walked the bike back to store; "retrued' in rapid (less than 5 minutes) fashion, next day same problem!! Went back again to repeat, guy there indicated it is difficult to fix these problems from Marin. Two days ago tried to tell Marin, no response; lots of good bikes out there Marin ain't one of them. read full review »

Land Rover - Discovery
January 2, 2007
I am writing to describe our purchase and service experiences this far with Land Rover. As background, I am a foreign service officer who lives/works in Africa and have owned and driven several Landrovers in Africa. Regrettably, we have had a horrible experience both with the Landrover in Albuquerque, NM and in Chantilly, Virginia. Not only are the services associates rude and unhelpful, but they have cost us money and time that is simply unacceptable. After buying our car in Chantilly, VA in August 2006, we found out that they did... read full review »

WashWorks Car Wash

On December 28, 2006 I went to Washworks at 3:39pm to have my car washed. I paid $15.00 for a Deluxe car wash. After 40 minutes of waiting I began asking employees where my car was. No one was able to locate my car. I asked for a manager and they told me he was in a back garage. I walked back there to find my car in a shut garage and it had not been washed. My oldest son moved to Fairfax, VA back in August to start his first post-graduation job. He took my 1998 Volvo S70 with him for transportation. The local Volvo dealer is Fairfax Volvo so I told him to take the car there for an oil change and tire rotation. He provided his own motor oil (Mobil-1 synthetic) for the oil change as the dealership uses conventional motor oil only. The tires only needed rotation but the service dept. talked him into a rotation and balance (he didn't know any better). After he dropped of the car the... read full review »

I own a 2002 Chrylser Town & Country LXi (original owner). This past April with just under 39K miles on the odometer I noted a whirring noise from the engine compartment that grew progressively louder over the course of several weeks. I suspected a bad alterator which the dealer confirmed. Since i was 3K miles beyond the 'bumper to bumper' warranty (36K miles)I assumed it would be replaced under the extended powertrain warranty. I had just gotten divorced and they saw "naive" coming. I had 4 witnesses at work meet with me & the salesman, I believed what he said he would do, replace the front bumper, complete extended warranty, etc. I failed to get this in writing. Pick up the car, sign, sorry, you signed, it is not in writing. My witnesses wrote letters, too bad. As a result I have lost a few thousand and I am not a rich person, single self supporting female. Now I'm stuck w/this mess for 3 years until it is paid off. There should be something that can be done for grossly dishonest sales people that use people for financial gain. read full review »

This dealer does not cover any replacement parts (especially catalytic converters, sensors, etc.) that are more than 1 year old. Since my Maxima is now due for a third catalytic converter/sensors at $1,200 (first one replaced at 52K!) third one would be at $1,200 at 82K within 2 years! On-Board Diagnostic Computers are great for making money, they indicate which part is bad (highest prices items) then the service department replaces it. The cause is never investigated.
