I rented a video and gave it to someone to return. they didn't and redbox appropriately charged me for its purchase. it then proceeded to charge my credit card for a deposit on the original rental which was less than its purchase price. It seems to me they should have thrown out the deposit charge since they had already charged me for its purchase, but the voice on their phone said this was standard practice and my deposit would be returned eventually. needless to say, i won't be renting anymore from them. read full review »

I ordered the complete series of Malcom in the Middle on Dec 13th as a Christmas gift. I sent a status inquiry email on Dec 21st because I was hoping it would arrive in time for Christmas. From that point on I received emails from them saying they shipped the order and they even provided a US Postal tracking number. We saw 6.30 show on 1st March in the Movie Dome Theater Calgary. The Print Qualit was so dull and dark and it looks like 70's movie. The picture was cutting from all the side in an angle. We could not hear the sound properly. It was a everyone's doubt that they are using duplicate print for the movie. In between atleast for 15min's movie was running without sound. As advertised on TV, I call and ordered a free lesson and only to pay for shipping and handling. I was shipped three lessons with the small print stating that I have ten days to return lesson 2 and 3 to be returned with ten days or be charged for a full lesson. I received the lessons which did not work properly as the installation instructed. I Ordered House season 1-4 and Dexter season1-3 boxsets from the website using a debit card and received a confirmation email notifying me that product would be shipped within 3 business days...that was february 14 2009. Here it is March 2 and after calling the 800 number assigned and giving order number I have not been given a reason for delay of shipment. Money has been transferred from my bank account and I have sent emails to the company in regards to my order but to no avail. I purchased their site on ebay for $169.99 and promised $2000 new template and logo design with purchase for free. Never got as they back tracked saying it was misunderstood so I was stuck with there design. On top of that they said if you stay with their hosting you get 6 months of help plus initially plus life long upgrades and support. Which was never given unless I paid more money each time for their buggy program to be fixed. Cashier Tapelo wanted to do us in with P20, we had to ask for the P20, there was no coleslaw at 11 o'clock on Sunday morning, 10 chips each, no serviettes, no vinegar with our 3 Streetwise orders. I purchased this product on-line with the assurance that it would help me recover photos from a damaged camera card. Instead of recovering the photos, the software PHOTORECOVERY froze my computer so totally that it required me to physically unplug my computer from the wall. I then downloaded a competitor's product which worked perfectly and I was able to recover over 99% of my files. Cashier was friendly, food was great, but... for the second time in two visits and with only two people in front of me, I waited in line for 15 minutes because there was only ONE cashier. The manager was too busy to talk to me becuase she was "the only cook". I really don't mind standing in line to place an order, but if the ONE cashier has difficult customers or a long line, she should ask for another cashier to avoid having the customers wait and wait just to place an order. This rental service is like RedBox but much worse. The Movie Cube Kiosk went out of order when I tried returning a DVD 2 days after I rented it. I spoke with the grocery store clerk and they said they would handle it and I should come back another day. Although I should be charged $3 for being late, the company tries to get away with charging me $38 and does not believe that they should have to reimburse me for something that is their fault. The toshiba DLP lamps are supposed to last 6000-8000 hours. Not even close. I've gone about 4000, then 3000, then about 300. The third lamp I bought was again a genuine Toshiba part, but they won't honor my warranty because I didn't pay enough for the lamp. I paid $142 on e-bay from a Toshiba registered retailer for a new lamp. After 3 1/2 months the picture got dim and then about 1 hour later the bulb popped. I purchased a copy of Easy DVD Copy 4 from Dell Computer. It does not work as described and is virtually useless. Dell refuses to correct the matter and does not provide adequate support or resolution. The product does not work is described. I have a Denon Home Theatre System that no longer will read a DVD or CD. I had purchased a warranty through Circuit City. Since the liquidation, the underwriters, "City Assure" have taken over honoring the warranty. I purchased a magazine from a door-to-door salesperson. The money went through my account but it's been over two years and i haven't received an issue! I even called their number on my receipt and spoke with a woman to complain that i hadn't gotten any issues and that it had been nearly a year. Then, she told me to email her my new change of address (i was also calling to update that because i had moved out of my apartment) and my receipt number. It didn't help. I still have no magazines. Despite repeated attempts to contact this company ( email / phone / letter ) to cancel the automatic subscription they have been debiting my credit card with for the last two years after I inadvertently accepted an offer for their F.A.S.T. service, they are uncontactable, have ignored my emails & letters and the phone number appears to be inoperational.
