I relocated to Pretoria in May. I had to pay a deposit to have my utilities activated. My utility bill increased on average by R200 per month. This month's bill arrived and it was a whopping R1500. Nearly double from the previous month. After many phone calls - which either gets cut of, or end up holding nearly 30 minutes, I was told that this was due to an increase in my deposit. How can you increase a deposit three months later? The point is, the deposit for service activation was paid upon commencement of the contract. It's a fixed amount. This is daylight robbery. My husband called early morning of the 1st of September and immediately the technician told him it would be 24 hours before we would receive service. The next day we did not receive service or a phone call. When my husband called to inquire about receiving service the next day late in the evening, he was told there was not ticket or information found on his request for service. Biancardi Construction abandoned our deck repair project when less than 1/2 was completed, owing us thousands of dollars for pre-paid work and materials. The job which the owner Chris Biancardi estimated would take 1 - 2 weeks dragged on for over 2 months with multiple excuses for non-completion. We purchased our new build property December 2006. The bathroom did not contain a shower however on discussions with the sales rep and workman on site we were advised that this could be fitted easily. A few months later we arranged for a private plumber to fit the shower and tiled the walls and floor. A few years ago, I purchased our house on the Bay in Truro, MA. The house had a two year old, top of the line, 70kwt Kohler stand-by generator - purported to have been designed to live outside in a salt air environment with a fifteen plus year life expectancy. I had a Bed and Breakfast built in 1995-1996 and began operation 1996. I have had nothing but problems with Pella windows ever since. I paid Pella several times to repair the windows. The repairmen never had enough spare parts or time even when spending an entire day. The windows are a hazard. They are underengineered to say the least. We had Creative Curbing and Landscapting, Inc. out of Lindstrom, MN, changed their name to MW Construction, put in a cement slab for us. A few months later the slab had major cracks appear. Our garage door also wouldn't open because the cement was put under the jam and the jam lifted in cold weather. The also spalshed cement on our new doors and siding and hte damage is still visible. Hired Richie from Richies Plumbing and Heating to fix a leak in my bathroom plumbing. He misdiagnosed the problem and the leak was worse after he was out the door. Refused to give my money back. In June I cancelled my service with ADT. I sold my house and moved to another state. They told me I would have a credit balance and they would send a check to my forwarding address. I have called about four times now and have been told that the balance has been credited to the credit card that was on file. This is the same card that was used to pay the monthly service and in fact was a debit card with my bank. I closed that account and card back in July. I am very dissappointed in my LG bottom freezer refrigerator. It is only 3 years old and have had to have the plastic closers replaced on the doors. We acturally had to have the doors replaced. Now the freezer slides and the crisper slide has broken. (Again, poor design). I have called LG (Life"s Good!), ...not if you buy one of their products. You will have to pay and pay. Don't hire Cape Cod Roofing to do anything. I had my roof done over and the crew damaged the house, left debris, nails all over. I deducted a small amount to pay for the damages and in return got harassed by Skip Schiappa the owner. He refused to fix the damages, sent a very lewd, crude and threatening letter. It got so bad I had to get the police involved since he resorted to verbally threatening me. All in all a very unprofessional man, doesn't respond well to complaints, lies through his teeth and doesn't care about your property while doing the job. The job turned out to be a nightmare ordeal. I had to make payment arrangements for a bill during the summer that was more than twice my normal rate due to A/C problem. Terrible customer service - online store I have purchased a set of two nightstands a headboard and a drawer chest from this store. The headboard has come damaged which i have immediately reported. It's been more than three weeks now and i am still waiting for my replacement headboard. The worst part is they have sent me bogus tracking numbers for fedex which have all turned out to be invalid. I have always shopped at Menard's. I had a new house built this year because I lost my home to a fire last year. I had a porch and a deck built with treated lumber from Menard's.
