I was using this company for hosting a website (started out as advances.com). I had lousy service from them and the website was down for most of 2008. My renewal period was October 1st. Watch out for this scam of a company. They leave "In Stock" on the website so you order it and then when you call to check because it hasn't arrive three weeks later they say two weeks. Then you call back again and they say two weeks. They tell you 25 were mis-tagged or mis counted and they apologize. Then they say depending on the import delays it may be longer. Excellent online retailer. Prices are competitive, but they shine when it comes to customer service. I have good credit and pay my bills on time, every time. - Bank of America informed me that due to "risk review" (yeah, right) they will be DOUBLING the interest rate on my credit card. Well folks. Watch out! I bought a PCChips motherboard from them back in Dec98 and it arrives DOA. I ask for an exchange and they told me that the product has been discontinued. At first the told me to call PCChips manufacturer to see if I can get it repair! I say that's no way to do that. So, the finally told me the ship it to TechData to repair the motherboard. I ordered an m0 stepping P4 2.4c processor from them and had some trouble with their cart and it didn't send my credit card data into them. After 3 days of no response, I went to their website and fired off a query on my order to them. I placed my order two weeks ago and Axent Micro promptly processed my payment. My order, however, has not shipped, and the order status has remained at 'Qued to ship' for several days. No one from the company answers the phone (EVER) or responds to voicemails, or emails directed to the address they provide on their website. Aventec is out of business. The FBI closed them down due to pirated software, and other matters. I googled Sony blu-ray players and then bought from the most reasonable site -- Tech Cyber Store. Instructions were to buy a Green Dot MoneyPak from a place like RiteAid as the method of payment. They said they'd deliver as soon as they received payment and I'd have a UPS confirmation number within 24 hrs after that. I bought the item on January 16 and Green Dot says the money was taken from the Green Dot card on the 19th.
