I have been getting happy meals for my grandchildren for some time. I was under the impression we had a choice of french fries or apple strips and soda or chocolate milk. I placed order for renewal of TV Guide in a phone call from the center on Sept. 19, 2008. I did not know this was a separate agency, I thought I was talking to TVGuide personnel. Because of the "deal", I renewed my subscription even tho it did not expire until Feb. 23, 2009. This is 5 months later, and TV Guide has not received my order! I talked to Rosanne at Mag. Center today and was told that I would be called back within 4-5 days that the order was placed. I purchased this 'product', as it is called in the email confirmation they sent me, and now I have learned that my 'subscription' has run out. So, I cannot use the 'product' any longer. Apparently the 'subscription' they are referring to is your 'right' to use the 'product' you paid for, not updates or services in addition to the 'product' purchase. I purchased a Toshiba 52" front projection TV from HH Gregg along with an extended warranty since the lamps burn out so quickly. The TV broke the first week of Dec 2008 and someone was onsite 12/10 to diagnose the problem and order the appropriate part. I have received a 'third notice of payment past due' from the Hearst Corporation for Cosmopolitan Magazine. They claim that in October 2008 I requested my subscription be renewed and be billed at a later date. Anonymiser did not always hide IP address. Support could never fix it. Two thirds through my subscription they sent out an update version that did not work and crashed the program I paid for. They refused to refund my money for the balance. They asked questions, pretending to be working on problem, but never did anything to fix it. Their program would also update trial versions of other programs I did not subscribe for, taking up more room on my computer, even though the programs were not active nor requested. I purchased Nero 7 a while back as a direct download form their site. I thought I was updating the program, when instead it tried to upgrade which entailed erasing my program. I sent the company emails requesting another download. I provided them with my license code. They tried to give me the earlier edition (I don't even think it would work with Vista anyhow) I sent other emails telling them what I had originally purchased and what OS I had. They talked me into their phone service. The service was poor and they billed more than advertised. Quit their phone service after 5 months but still had billing problems. I always paid what I agreed to but billing was always off. After months of trying to work out with long phone calls, they agreed to a fair credit for past billing errors. The software I ordered didn't make any difference w/ my computer. I noticed the day after I ordered it, my bank account had been charged 4 times instead of 1. I called ascentive, who admitted it was their fault, and the refund was complete. I called my bank, who told me they had not recieved authorization for the refund. Then I called ascentive again. Sent in the card for the special 1 year subscription to Runners World magazine. The subscription expired Jan 2009. I didn't want to renew a second year, so I did nothing. Against my intention, the company automatically renewed the magazine. Early Feb 2009 I received a notice from the North Shore Agency requesting collection for payment. Me and my partner bought a Sumsung LCD 3 months ago. When we first brought it home and unpacked it the plastic around the tv was distorted and melted looking, we returned it and got another. I have received another bill in the mail, from Charles Martin for Playboy. Stating there going to turn us over to collections, if we don't pay the balance of $15.96 on Magazines, we never have received. There is no telephone number on this bill, so your not able to contact anyone, to stop collections. We are not paying for a Magazine we did not receive or Subscribe to.
