I purchased a sofa, love seat, and recliner from WG&R in Green Bay. The sales associate sold me the Ultra-Shield warrenty stating that any stain, rip, etc. would be covered by the company. Lowes sold me carpet and install. They demanded that I buy an amount of carpet that they determined that I needed. I did not agree that I needed so much (with 22% waste) and asked to be shown how they intended to use the carpet requiring the higher amount. They refused and refused to install unless I agreed to purchase the higher amount of carpet that they said I needed. So I had no choice but to agree. The reps lie, put you on hold for excessive periods of time, hang up and just leave you on hold for ever. This is an inferior floor that will get damage with regular cleaning and then Empire will blame the consumer. Not to mention the damage done when liquid is spilled, even when cleaned up right away. If the liquid gets between the joints the floor will get damaged. Don't believe the claim that the floor is scratch resistant either. Our 2-year-old GE Profile dishwasher malfunctioned in the middle of the night and it wasn't even turned on when we went to bed. They performed one and then refused to honor the second one that I had ALREADY paid for because 12 months had passed. Florida Power and Light is the only show in town, it has a clear monolopy. That is one reason. They keep increasing theyr costs, wheil fueld has gone down, along wiht the economy (more unempoyment, lower wages, etc). When late in paying, they will not offer any assistance (personl experience, as well as the many websites where people have complained of the very same issue) but will make you pay a deposit, some times you end up paying several deposits, many of which are over the allowed amount (no more than 2-3 times the average bill). Called for a toilet that would not flush, a problem that reoccurred about twice a year on this property and was easily cleared up with a rooter service. I purchased this steam iron the middle of October. I didn't use it until I was visiting in New York. When I tried to open the water inlet door on the iron it wouldn't open.
