Our banister has been loose since we have moved in over a year ago. Well, it broke on12/21 off the wall and my husband fell down the stairs. We told them about it when we first moved in but they didn't do anything about it. They still won't and since my husband wasn't hurt seriously enough for them, they won't even pay for the ER bills or his lost time from work. Dr. Plumber looked at my heating system and performed repairs on it without telling me what they were going to do or how much it would cost. Floors to Go's installers were great, they did a good job installing hardwood stairs and hall plus one bedroom, as well as carpet in the other 3 bedrooms. Alarman's prices are extremely high, we were quoted R22000 to fix our alarm which is only worth about R12000.00. It takes them days to fix something. They also charge you full price for computer software for your alarm but don't give you the originals which is what you paid for, but copies of the software, this is fraud and totally unacceptable. Installers of a window in my newly fitted kitchen stood on the granite counter top (despite having a ladder to use) and cracked the granite in two places. When I spoke to the company owner the next day (a Saturday) he said he was so sorry and he was 'committed to fixing this for me'. By Monday they had done an about face and refused to pay for the damage which totalled R6000 and said that the quote excludes 'consequential damages'. Lawyers told me this is not consequential damages but gross negligence.
