This company advertises on Craigslist in the security section. They claim to have recession free lifetime job placement for a fee of $80. I personally spoke to a rep named Mr. Norman who actually is a "thug" in tacky church clothes with horendous mouth odor. What they basically have done is acquired actual security companies' phone number and distribute it to you when you've completed your training. Empire Today did not honor their contract that was signed by the installation respresentative at the time of service. They went up on finance charges without notification. We purchased a house that has Thermatru Fiberglass entry doors. The house was built in 2002 and we purchased it in 2006. The leaded glass insert in the Thermatru door started to get condensation in it and the stain started to peel off the entire door and the side panels. We noticed a dent in the kitchen floor in February and when this spread we asked a trusted builder friend to investigate. He discovered that large areas of the kitchen floor were rotting away and we rang Norwich Union immediately and were assured that we were covered for an escape of water. Initial contact was affable. We purchased 4" white oak select through www.flooringwarehousedirect.com. The lumber was milled by Taylor Lumber. The floor cupped and we hired a National Wood Flooring inspector whose analysis said the wood was over dried. Taylor's sales manager, who we understand is not a NWFA inspector. denied the claim. The inspector responded to Taylor citing NWFA guidelines. To date, neither Taylor or flooringwarehousedirect.com will uphold the warranty. I work in Las Cruces, NM, but live in nearby El Paso, TX. Most of our work is handled through the internet. Some jobs are rural and I have trouble getting changes from architects, engineers, and owners. This delays the job and causes everyone to come to halt. I need the internet service due to orders have to be handled in an out-of-town orders to California, for the most part. I have a Kenmore gas range that was purchased at the end of 2005. Yesterday the glass door to the oven shattered into a million + peices for no apparent reason. I have a Kenmore Range - Model: 790.96119408 on which the left front burner comes on by itself, without warning. This morning, the unit came on by itself and nearly started a fire in my kitchen. The unit has been in use for just over a year. Other similar Frigidaire/Kenmore ranges have been recalled - however Sears refuses to fix this product under the terms of the recall, nor acknowledge the product as defective. GE Profile gas range model PGB918SEM1SS. The burner knobs on this stove are made of plastic with a fake stainless steel veneer. The heat from the oven vents, (a row of vents located directly below the burner knobs) is melting the knobs. These knobs (6 of them) cost a whopping $35 each to replace with the same type of knob, which will simply melt again unless all the knobs are removed when the oven is in use. Real stainless steel knobs are not available. Also, the round burner caps over the gas burners are melting around the edges. read full review »
