A few months ago this "spyware guard " kept popping up on my computer telling me I had all kinds of viruses and worms that were an immediate threat to my computer. It would NOT go away no matter what I tried. I went ahead and purchased a 1 year protection @ 49.95. Then when it scanned and removed those "threats" it has no longer detected any. I placed an online order with SanDisk and verified the order information. I received an order confirmation along with an invoice from SanDisk and also an acknowledgement from my credit card company that they had authorized the transaction to SanDisk. Let me recount my first and most definitly my LAST experience with this pathetic company. I bought a Hitachi CP-X885W Replacement Lamp [OEM EQUIVALENT] on a Tuesday and paid for 2 day shipping. I ordered my ION PC from their site, www.thelinuxstore.com, on 05July1999 and they charged my Visa on 08July1999. They did not ship the PC until 20July1999. This is a big NO-NO. Bought a PC Case from this company, and it arrived late and dented! Speaker was not connected. Company wants me to pay for return shipping. They won't take it back now either. Poor communication. Item not in stock, even though showing in stock. Website does not allow you to cancel order. Can't automatically generate a Return Authorization on an order I received, (their automated didn't work). Sporadic emails, first working with a person, than get a generic email. After several days of shipping delay the company shipped my order without the city or state entered on the address. Needless to say I never got it. I made several calls to find out where the product was and after about 3 weeks called to cancel the order at which time they told me that they had received it back (about a week ago now) because they forgot the address. After reading the good comments about this at other review sites about this company I purchased a Microsoft XP home edition OEM SP2 Operating System. The shipping was very fast almost next day via USPS. I went to install the new OS and there is a problem with the CD, it is defective because it cannot finish the OS install. Bought a refurbished Compaq Deskpro. Tried to boot it up 2 days ago, and got an error message saying Himem.sys was missing or corrupt. Called CR in Peoria, IL and spoke with 2 reps. They both told me I need to run the Restore disk that was included with the PC. I asked if this would just restore my registry and one of the reps said yes. Loaded the restore disk in the CD Rom drive and it immediately started running a "ghost" of the original hard drive, wipeing out my entire drive. I always enjoy purchasing from Computer Gate. Don't come to browse though, they don't show images when listing items and browsing becomes a very boring activity. I brought my Acer notebook computer to the Geek Squad at the Best Buy where I bought it, at U.S. 421 N. in Carmel, Indiana (West Carmel Marketplace). Whenever I went online and tried to load a page, any page, all I got was the hourglass and the page never loaded. I called tech support for a 2 year old Photosmart printer. You have to use the special ink cartridges that came with the printer the first time you use it. I lost them. I had the printer out of the box and not used when I moved and finally got back to wanting to use it. I bought cartridges specifically for Photosmart printers. Did not work.
