I was asked by the previous bank or FDIC to keep sending my payments as normal to the same address until you are notified by a letter from the current holder. This company called me today 12/16/09 and informed me that I owed money on a credit card that I closed that account 10 years prior.I called the store that the card was through and was informed that if I did in fact owe money they would of found it through my SS#. Purchased from Home Depot, Hampton Bay Garrison 52" Ceiling Fan with Remote Control (model number 640-656) Ceiling Fan was installed properly. Heard a sizzling sound and turned it off, there was a burning smell. My husband started to take it down to research what the burning smell was from. I have ordered multiple times and each time there is a screw up. Today I was charged $5.95 + $1.00 and then two times for $99.95 + $206.85 for a very clear phone order. Do not order from this company. I ordered a pair of boots, and got email cancellation 6 days later. Oddly, I was billed two days after the order was placed (first red flag) I have emailed, and called (voice mail-suprise), and have not received a refund. This is a scam. They send you items you never ordered and charge you a fortune for something that isn't even worth $5. It looks like they go by Haute Jewelry Direct, SHOPDANI.com and Modern Readers. All of which are located in Evanston, IL. I've already rec'd (2) $89 charges on my account. I've tried calling several times and have left several messages. Have not received a single call back. I ordered something 9 mos ago, I didnt like it. I returned it and told them I didnt want to be a member I called them and left numerous messages. Bankers Life and Casualty should be shut down. This company is absolutly deceitful in its behavior. My Mother bought a Long Term Care policy on my father years ago. My father has become bedridden, in need of significant daily care. The company did pay 26k of the claim after making us jump through hoops but given good documentation paid.
